We are almost finished taking  off the stripes, decals etc from the 87 travelaire and will be painting some kind of design on it in the spring after we paint the cab etc.  Can some one suggest the best paint to use for doing this the body of the unit is fibreglass!  I have never done anything like this before and would hate to use the wrong paint.

There are fibreglass wheel covers, we took off to repair that will also be put back on the unit and I am re doing the inside covers on the seats, windows etc.

Some pics of the motor home on its way to looking a lot different than when we first got it in July. Looking forward to the spring so we can finish it on the outside all the new slipcovers etc should be done on the inside as well as that is my winter project!

A single stage auto paint will do the best job such as one named "Uno".

Any body shop can order the paint for you and mix in many shades of color.

The paint will be costly to cover such a large area but will look very good when done not to mention many years of shiney colorful service.

hi,if ur gonna pint it a solid color,u can go with a singal stage, just becarefull u dont run the paint, but if u go metalic go bc/cc one mist coat of clear and one good finish coat,u'll be good to go martin

One question.  Automotive paint, or marine paint on the fiberglass sides?  I kinda got lost in all the answers and suggestions.  Sorry.  :(

We haven't even started on our 85 Diamond, yet...but she's got the fiberglass siding....  Thanks.

Dinah

hi when ur ready, give me a call, and if theres anyway i can help please let me know good luck martin
The sides are fibreglass  actually its not that bad except for the part around the middle of the unit that had a big brown stripe and when we took it off the underside looked all scratched  we may opt to just fix tht part with something and paint or put another stripe over it.  Unless you get up close and personal with the unit you dont notice it really!
