Longed to be full-timer for years but current situation won't allow it. I paint murals for a living and bought the Bounder to stay in while working out of town. Made a 3000 mile trip up through the N.W. and loved every minute, but can't maintain both home and R.V.

We survived another weekend at the friend's ranch in Unaweep Canyon, near Gateway, CO. I spent the first weekend with the landowner rebuilding the road from the ranch house down to the spot we chose to set up the motorhome for our weekends, about 3/4 mile through 20-30' tall Oak brush-loved it!

Next weekend spent digging a French drain type septic system and clearing dead-fall and undergrowth from the immediate area, clearing more oak brush and weeds to keep from scratching the Bounder any more than we already have.

Lost all 12v electrical power about 4am, no lights, furnace, or frig.cuddled until 8 and went trouble-shooting. I found low water in both 6v deep cycle batteries. hooked up jumper cables from the van and got engine started, then eventually got gen. started and ran it until batteries  charged up and solar panels could take over about 9am when sun finally shone on panels.

Repeated above next weekend and finally found loose battery terminal connections and added yet more water.

SWEET SUMMER BUT TOO SHORT

We brought the Bounder home after a couple months of free parking on friends' ranch in Unaweep Canyon near Gateway CO., Heaven on earth! We're relative newcomers to boondocking and were fortunate enough to have very generous friends with their tractor with brush hog and loader. We mowed the existing old road that runs through their ranch and took a chainsaw to the overhanging oak brush, then cut a new road down through the brush and trees to the creek where we dug out a trench to level the…
