My new{ish} camper

Picked up a camper, hope it is "old" enough! 1989 Skamper by Dutchman, model 1850T. Had a price I couldnt refuse, but the round trip from SC to OH did add some expense. Slapped a set of new tires on it, checked the bearings and added grease, and off I went! Slow trip, trailer wanted to sway at 60mph, so I stuck to 58-59. That can be tough on I-77!

Got it home, made a few rot repairs. AC and heat strip work, hadnt checked the propane furnace yet. Water pump spins up, but I…

Y'all be careful out there! {wrecked my old RV!}

I wrecked my RV on the 16th, and it is on its way to becoming beer cans now! One less 1963 Grumman Kurbmaster on the road.

For the second time, I had wheel studs snap and lost one side of the dually rear end. After the first, which I got away with by the grace of God, I replace all the rear wheel components. New drums, new studs pressed in, new brake pads and cylinders while I was in there.

Never knew what broke them the first time, and I dont know what broke…

Thanks for the comment and the info. Sorry to hear about your Kurbmaster,but glad you were ok. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated. I am handy, but new to this kind of project. The picture on my blog is my inspiration, and hopefully mine will look similar. They are great vehicles and really sturdy. I will definitely check the stud, frequently!
