OK, and thank you!  I honestly didn't think this thru about the electric issue when on the road...we've only been camping 1x with it and have alot to learn.  I love the idea of checking the temp inside and getting a better idea of the cooler.   Great suggestions, thanks!!

Thanks, but I'm also wondering on the correct way to use it...ice on the shelf that would melt & drain...but is there an more efficient manner??

Hello, yes, you are correct, Ice would go there.   It's not electric.  May need to replace the tube or clean it out.

We are strongly considering an electric fridge but want to find just the right one.

I sure hope you can advise us ...looks like this might be an ice box and not a fridge?  We've got something similar in our '75 Wilderness.  This might sound odd, but we don't know how to use it!  It's got a shelf midway with a drainage tube, so we thought ice would go there...but then do you stack stuff ON top of that ice, or underneath?  We just want to be efficient and don't understand the process.  Plus, our tube doesn't leak the melted ice correctly, so we've got to figure that out as well.  And any chance you might replace it with a working fridge?  Thanks for any input! -Sandy
