Hi all, I am so glad to have this to turn to!

I recently purchased a 19 foot pull trailer. It was some water damage around some windows as well as along the corner seams. The previous owner used long drywall screws to secure the seams and tubs and tubs of clear silicone to seal it up. I am already getting in there and doing my best to replace rotten wood, but I am wondering a few steps ahead...

Is there and after market trim piece that I can buy that is wider then the inch or so one that is on the trailer? By trim I mean the piece of aluminum that acts as a cover for the putty and holds the corner seems together.

Also what are folks using around the windows?

I will try to figure out how to post a picture of a seam with trim... May have to be my profile picture for a bit:(

Thanks for reading and responding in advance:)

Phil

there is a molding called "wide flange" corner molding.  its available in white and mill(bare aluminum).  if you pull the molding you can carefully piece out the old dryrot and go back with fresh wood, a lot of times separating the side metal to get just enough room.  hint:go back a little smaller on the dimension when you replace and you can use the original molding.  the main drawback to the wide flange, it wont take a radius. my fav around the windows is lexel clear, available at ACE hdw..putty tape behind the flange if you remove it.  butyl tape behind if it is a clamp ring style window..

David, I am sorry it has taken so long for me to reply and say thank you!!! I will take your advice and run with it!!!
