Major progress on repairs and upgrades. The bathroom sink faucet was that ugly brass plating thing and pealing like crazy. So brushed nickel faucet comes to the rescue. This was SOOOO not as easy as the kitchen sink faucet. Anyway it is replaced and with come creative use of flex hose and shark bite connectors it is installed.

FYI, I bought purple pipe tape this time and it is way easier to use than the white stuff. Granted it is 3 times more expensive but for the ease of use it is worth the added expense.

Looking spiffy....good job...  betcha still feel the labor some more tomorrow,,,

Using the braided steel flex line is excellent. Should you have to work on the faucet in the future it will make things much easier. I did the same with my toilet, water heater and faucets. Yet to do is the shower lines. Disconnecting and particularly re-connecting is far easier with a flexible line.

Further at a small expense per feed I added a ball valve between each feed and flex line, hot and cold. This gives me a zoned system, where if the kitchen faucet (for example) leaks I can shut it off while repairing it with minimal line drainage required and still have use of the bathroom faucet, toilet, etc.

I am also somewhat paranoid and a little anal so I have a habit if shutting off the water at the bib in case of a leak when I am going out. We all know how little time is required for a water line leak to cause major damage.

I lived aboard and cruised on my boat for a number of years and developed the habit then. I have seen unattended boats sink from a broken water line below deck that overwhelmed the bilge pumps.
