I was doing the maintenance around trailer today and popped open the water heater door to check how many bugs have settled in for the winter.,  What I found was,,, A frozen up gas metering valve, Big red knob in the picture.

I just about broke my fingers attempting to get the darn thing to turn. Ok,, I admit, a few explatives escaped my lips, but I was determined to get that knob to turn. I grabbed my channel locks and pried gently back and forth till it moved a lil. Next came the WD-40 saturation. then more wiggling till it finally turned freely.

I also noticed the BLOW Valve was a bit sticky when tested,, so it got blasted with WD-40, Then I checked the water drain valve,,, YUUUUUUP, was stuck.. it got sprayed to,, after some convincing it came loose and turned freely.

All this froze up on me within a matter of 5 weeks, down here at Padre Island Texas.

Just passing on some info when ya do prechecks,,, check the gas water heater for stuck everything.

If I hadnt checked, I would be somewhere spewing explatives..

So check the control valve, the pilot light plunger, the safety blow valve and drain valve.
