Who makes Skippy?

I just bought a 1971 travel trailer.  The word "skippy" is written on the front.  The previous owner told me that was the manufacturer but I can't find any information on it.  Has anyone else heard of a Skippy travel trailer?

They are built by Skippy traveler corporation out of white Pigeon  Michigan. They filed marketing in 1972, havin g had 1970 -1972 models available for temporary travel residency.

They discontinued production in 1980.

Also,,,,,,,, Fleetwood and Skyline purchased several patent rights to Skippy designs. A.k.a. Nomad,Shasta,Skamper, just to name a few.. Was a small company started out of a garage. They just couldnt compete with Indiana larger RV builders.   Hope this info helps.

If you need reference to systems and operations of accesorires,, Nomad, is about as close to being identical as you would need. Nomad hasn't changed there layout of systems to much over the years, only updating existing systems with newer and better fittings,lines, appliances etc.
