They are the right height for seats. And inverters.

I'm guilty too. I just today pulled a full one out of the Palace that I had used to deep fry Turkey with last  fall. I figured I had pushed my luck long enough. I probably have a half dozen of them laying around my property. Empty of course but I've used them for everything from saw horse's to seats..

Thanks. The tank is empty. It happened to be sitting next to the RV. Sparks and propane? What could go wrong?

That's a nice looking inverter, I like the massive heat sinking case and fan. Not sure the bottle gas tank is a good fit though!

Thanks! The awning is tearing away from the roller on the right side. I ordered some "awning tape" today (the duct tape doesn't hold up and clashes with the rug :) ).

Got the inverter hooked up and I'm running the important stuff (TV, boom box and DirecTV box). So far so good. A little buzz from the TV speakers because of the modified sine wave inverter, but I can live with that.

I'll have to come up with a more permanent arrangement. It looks like I have room in my cord storage compartment for the inverter. I can run some big cable to the batteries to power it.

Jim, I like the look of the floor and that outdoor carpet looks great with the awning out.  I am debating about putting an awning back on our Mobile Money Pit, but as you so aptly put it, the awning is worth more than the MH. LOL

I liked the shag, too. But 6 years sitting in a tow yard with many, many leaks took its toll on it. It smelled bad and was rotting into the plywood underneath. It had to go.

The awning has seen better days, too, but it still opens and closes with some creativity. I have to use special tools (aka a "screwdriver") to manually manipulate the stops on the arms because they're both broken. I use the lock pins to keep it up. Seems to work okay. A new awning costs more than the blue book on the motorhome.

I don't have an awning but I carry a 10' x 10' canopy I don't have the heart to drill holes in the side of the Palace to install one. I do like that rug. I might have to spring on one of those sooner than later; would help maintain the old 70's shag that adorns the the Palace floors. It's ugly but in remarkable shape so it stays for now. I do like the floors you put down though.

Oh yeah - I got the inverter on Amazon for $129. 2,000 watts is a big one for the money. Reviews are mostly positive (they claim its the highest rated inverter on Amazon). The biggest complaints were a lack of user-serviceable fuses (they were soldered to the circuit board inside so when they blow you're done). A redesign puts a row of fuses externally that you can replace.

I'm going to simulate the dry camping experience after work. My GF got me a nice outdoor carpet for Father's Day that I have set up, too. UPS guy brought it today. I pulled the awning out for full effect.

That's exactly my goal - set up better for dry camping. I have a 6,500 watt generator but it's silly to run it just to power some low-draw stuff. A little 120V from an inverter will be perfect. Question is whether to actually install the inverter, or just clamp it to the batteries as needed. I got an adapter so I can plug the RV power cable into it (I would unplug the converter, otherwise I would be drawing 12V power from the batteries to convert it to 120V to power the inverter which would try to charge the batteries - I think a black hole or a wrinkle in the time-space continuum might result). I just have to caution people that while the 120V outlets work, they're for small stuff.
