Pat, I hate to hear that. I didn't even know there had been an earthquake until you sent me the email. I suppose the motorhome's suspension system (shocks, springs, etc.), designed to eliminate the bouncy-ness of rough roads, is equally effective against the ground vibration of major earthquakes. I had about ten seconds of the motorhome swaying, like a strong wind had blown through. I thought that was unusual because we had fought strong wind all day, to the point of me getting this slight "sea-sick" feeling from the motorhome's constant rocking, but the wind had calmed after sundown and was perfectly still. It takes 30-50 mph gusts to get my rig rocking like that. But I figured a rogue gust of wind had blown through--until I checked my email an hour later, and discovered a note from you saying we'd experienced a large earthquake.

So, chalk up yet another positive reason to live in a "good old RV" instead of a sticks-and-bricks house. It's apparently "earthquake-proof."
