Very nice layout and CLEAN,,
Wow! Sounds like quite the project alright. Once finished, you will love the lay out of your camper, I have no doubt. My Lark is 1 ft smaller than the camper my folks had when I was a kid; they can't get over all the room in my camper as compared to theirs.
The magazine rack in my camper was added by someone and not factory installed. I also have a small custom built cabinet in the bathroom that we use to keep toilet paper in and small items like tooth brushes, tooth paste, band-aids, Tums etc...
The propane light on the closet wall is just that. The mechanism under it that looks like a thermostat is the control knob for the light.
Regarding vehicles; I drive a 2007 GMC Envoy Denali which I HIGHLY recommend. Not the Enovy but, the Denali model; big difference! The Denali model has a 5.3 liter V-8 engine that is found in many older model Suburbans. It has plenty of towing power and still is good on gas. The standard (non Denali) Envoy has a 6 cylinder engine; the gas mileage is not that good, 15 - 20. With my Envoy Denali, I get 22 - 26 mpg highway and always 19.9 - 20 mpg city driving; this is better mpg than my Subaru Forester! 2009 is the last year GMC made the Envoy Denali. Even though this would be older than your 2012 Equinox, I don't think you'd be disappointed.
I measured some of the features in my camper today, and will send you photos of the bed, but do not have my camera with me and will not have it until next weekend. The dinette seats are 33 1/2 X 23; table 40 X 28; bunk bed 92 X 40; sofa bed that pulls out into a full size bed 74 X 27; closet 25 X 32; rear sink outside bathroom 34 X 52; stove/sink/counter 52" long; opening for the refrigerator 24 X 31.
Best of luck! I hope this info. also helps. Oh, I'm in Minnesota. My camper is in really good shape because the original owners owned the camper from 1971 - 2004, and wintered in AZ; nice dry air.
Hi Shawna! I love my Lark, and yes, there is very little info. about them on the internet. They are identical to Aristocrats, and some Shasta models; perhaps built by the same factory. I found this somewhere on line, it shows my floor plan. I hope this helps you in your rebuilding. Let me know if I can help.
Hi Adam! I just purchased a Lark that looks nearly identical to yours. I don't have a title so I'm unsure of the exact year. I bought it near Elkhart, IN and even went to the RV/MH Museum to try to track some info down. They don't have much more than you can find online. The couch has been removed from mine and I'm curious about measurements and mechanism. I want to replace it as close to original as possible. Thanks and it looks great!
