You can see all of the black from the rotting that was going on in the front of the camper. The back was no prize either.

Thats why we bought ours in the condition we did. We wanted somthing we could totally REBUILD and feel confident about what we were camping in. The words refurbish and restoration are used so easily. When we talked to the owner of the one we bought, he said it was "mint, no leaks, solid". Ummm, right. A 43 year old camper with no leaks in mint condition? I don't think so. I've seen 3 year old campers leaking. After driving 3 hours to see it, I was poking around to see how "solid" it was. My hand pushed right into the wall and my hand came out wet. I could literally wring out the insulation. I ended up buying it for about a third of what he was asking. Once I started tearing it apart, I wanted to send him some pictures of how "unsolid" it was!

Thanks Kevin. It is kind of nice to kind of be doing my restoration the same time you are. I do not have anyone here to help me so you are like my "muse" for my resto work. :o) I think teh quality of your work is just excellent! I know there are people out there (and probably a majority of people) that prefer to just refurbish a camper. After seeing what I have seen in my camper there is no way I would ever pay good money for a camper that has been refurbished. I would prefer to buy one that is in rough shape and start from the ground up again.

I have tons of anxiety since I am not versed in any areas of this rebuild, but I am willing to learn or learn from my trials. Thanks for letting me ride the coattails of your rebuild Kevin.

Willing to give it a shot is half the battle! I was VERY intimidated by all of it when I started but once you get into it, it isn't that bad. I have learned a lot just by being here and doing a ton of internet research. Good luck and have fun.

Getting some nice tools out of it isn't bad either:)

Thanks Pat. I have not a clue about what I am doing because I am not a carpenter, plumber, electrician or heating technician, but I am willing to give it a shot. Worst case scenario is that I am going to get some new tools out of the deal. :o)

I sure hope it works out well and ends up being better than before. Thanks again Pat.
