Well, Larry, I'd guess you have a lot of good years remaining. But at the age of 65 you ought to be enjoying life a little more, and working a little less. At least, that's my plan in a few years (when I catch up to you semi-retired guys). There's a guy on this site that I've been talking to. He found a nice travel trailer for $450 which seems to only need a water pump. Maybe you could make some money parting out the Pace Arrow, and fall into a deal like that? Keep in touch, Larry. Would enjoy hearing how it's going for you. Since you're nearby, I was hoping you'd have the rig going by next Spring. I would enjoy meeting you in an Oklahoma State Park next year for a weekend of swapping tall tales and enjoying Nature.

Well parting it out was the original idea.  Using the axles to update my 47 Fitz.  Its a basket case but I have the 1992 Chevy drivetrain installed in it now.  Everything else still needs to be done.  I will be 65 this Saturday so how many years am I going to be able to do this stuff.

Wow, Larry. I'm not much of a mechanical type, but that sounds like a lot of work to me. Sorry to hear of it. Don't give up the idea of going full-time, if that's what you really want. If the work is overwhelming (it would be for me), I know that well-maintained older units can be found for reasonable costs on CraigsList. Just keep your head up and, if this one is too much work, keep looking. I've known people that fell into some sweet deals -- free to just a few hundred bucks for an older but well-maintained rig. Maybe this current one could be parted out?

Short answer a lot!!  Back 4 foot of roof needs replacing.  Now just covered with a tarp.  Getting rid of all the dry rot.  New flooring to replace bad carpet.  New chairs but I have them.  Exhaust manifolds, fuel pump, grey water holding tank and water heater(have exact replacement.  Roof air needs dining table on and on and on.  Was thinking of using the front and rear axles under my 1947 Fitzjohn as an update??  Just on hold.

How much work needs to be done, Larry?

Yep they stand out in a pack.  Some coaches were built very close to these and you have to look close at them.  Its just that now its getting rare to see anything.  The number are dwindling down each year.  Don't know yet what I am going to do with this one.  Just thinking of scraping this one give me cold chills.

Those old Pace Arrows are quite distinctive, aren't they?
