New rig: Has the deeper over cab area that I liked so much in the Toys (that I had been looking at for over a year).

I am lucky to only have one brother and we avoid politics we disagree on. He listens to talk radio, I refuse.

I should silence my family - THEY are the worst offenders!

I agree. I just follow happy stuff on Facebook. Country and Farm -photos, old cars, Anibal Martinez - he finds lots of cool stuff, and nature sites. I tried two RV pages but the people on them were too weird. Bragging about their rigs or asking really dumb questions. Made you wonder if they were driving around knowing absolutely nothing about their $150,000 80 foot rig with the rest of us. Had to bite my tongue s lot. Lol!!

Yep, I rarely do facebook anymore and have "sworn off" the news for my sanity.  Although it still creeps in!

Yeah, we dumped cable tv years ago. The programming got so nasty and stupid and the news became entertainment for dummies. All stuff you have no power to change. And don't get me started on the drug commercials. None of it worth the stress it creates. Too much b.s.
We watch Netflix and YouTube for entertainment. In the past when I was between jobs I felt like I had to have something on all the time. Now I enjoy the peace and quiet or music of my choice.

Oh, I have followed Duet Justus!  Just saw the one (#61 on the playlist) where they got caught in the mud and almost slipped off the edge - heart was in my throat watching that (having been in a similar situation myself that didn't end as well!).

Amazing how people have put themselves out there, embarrassing moments and all.  I'll look up Phoenix Ramblers - and have you seen the couple with the two kids in New Zealand - NZ Bus Life I think.  Adorable kids and parents - they do a nice job with their channel.

Funny how sometimes though it becomes like watching a soap opera, though!  What did we do before YouTube...OH Oprah and Dr. Phil!  LOL.  When we were full-timing a few years ago Rick would be gone all day working and I'd get stir crazy and even though I wasn't into that stuff I'd put the tv on just to have someone talking - grin.  Became quite fond of those.

Check out the two "kids" on Duet Justus. See what a mess they started with. But they dug in and did it right. And they aren't just the grippers and moaners and video through the windshield types. They actually go places and do great videos of those places.
Also check out the Phoenix Ramblers. They took a very old trailer that we thought should be in the junkyard and made it soooo beautiful. They are older folks (not as old as us!!!) and they too go places and do campground reviews, but their trailer is beautiful now.

We spent the last year watching and dropping a lot of the full time bloggers. Some really are pretty bad.
Non RV we like Aquachigger and the Boss of the Swamp. They are the real deal.

Pippi Peterson is a hoot, She makes her income crafting, blogging and of course teaching Belly dancing. She has quite a following,

Aw, Lakota you brought a tear to my eye!!!  Seriously.  I don't think anyone has ever said anything so nice about me!  But YOU KNOW where all this stubbornness comes from????  IT'S THE TEXAS in me!!!  Hail' yes!  That dirt takes root no matter where you live after that :-)

You know though, I've been following several women out there on YouTube that are grabbing a fulltime vandwelling RV lifestyle solo, on a shoestring, and just going out there and figuring it out - so there are some amazing women out there - and those are just the ones being public about it.

So, IF anyone wants to follow here are a couple that I found the most helpful - there are lots of single videos I've found too:

Pippi Peterson

https://www.youtube.com/user/DesignFunThings - okay guys, this one is eye candy - she belly dances, too - but ladies, she is so worth following - she makes her own solar panels, installs them, cleans and paints her propane tank, changes her transmission fluid - drops the pan and everything, runs down leaks...if I had had a daughter I'd be proud!  She has my old rig - not really, but it looks to be the same year just not quite the same floorplan)

Carolyns RV Life

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfqr5I-0RKK8Ha1PeKi0_ig (I like her cuz she's my age and like me has been a desk jockey then she chucked it all and bought an old clunker and headed out - she just shares it all, including all her rookie mistakes!  She's got some great stories.  Okay, she talks a little much sometimes, but a good spirit

And, if you want to look her up on YouTube - Old Fart, New Start is a hoot.  She had a GREAT idea for pulling up to an unused loading dock on the back of a store on the weekend to then set up your ladder to get on the roof - not so far down!  What creativity and–err cajones?

Besides, I think I'd never have tackled this if I hadn't been on this forum for awhile and KNEW there were friendly folks I could ask questions of - and that no question was going to be too dumb (I might get chuckled at, but no one would run me out of town on rails!).
