Hi Cindy,
Here are a few photos Shannons sister sent me. I have the trailer advertised right here on GoodoldRVs. Just click on RV's For Sale and enter El Rey in the search window. Shannon towed the trailer from Eastern Washington to Lynnwood with no problems. She was quite unsure what to ask for her Vintage rig since the only other El Rey we found on the internet was selling for $28,000 (what a beauty it is though) but after checking out similar Airstreams from the same era we found out the average sale price was around $6,000. She is open to any offers though. If you plan on flying out to a RV's location and taking it back home you may be better off getting a Motor Home. Vintage Motor Homes are expensive if they are in any shape to drive cross country though, trailers are almost always cheaper but they are usually larger if you plan to live in it. I have owned several RV's and lived in a few of them, 24 feet is the smallest Motor Homes i have lived in and although they were nice and easy to drive they where a bit cramped. Shannons El Rey trailer is 25 feet long, the dinette is in front the kitchen is across from the entry door with the fridge and pantry to the left of the entry door, the twin beds are beyond that and as you pass between the beds you enter the bathroom which is across the back of the trailer, toilet on the right sink in front of you and shower on the left. The toilet has a water tank just like a house toilet but in miniature. All the appliances are pink and the upper walls and ceiling are green. It is very clean inside for it's age which quite impressed me when i first saw it. Several years ago i purchased and restored a 1952 Airstream which was in decent shape but not as nice as Shannons El Rey. If you want to see what potential this trailer has Google or Bing "El Rey" and aside from all the trailer parks with that name you should find the "Cherry" $28,000 restored 60's something trailer i mentioned earlier. It looks extremely nice in the photos. I was able to polish my 52 Airstream i had to the same caliber as those photos show. It was a lot of work but worth the effort. I actually got pulled over by a cop when i forgot to latch a access door properly at the back of my Airstream and every time it swung upward it blinded him. Thankfully he was more interested in checking out my trailer than he was in handing out a ticket. He was quite impressed with the beautiful birch interior and new upholstery (oh yeah i used to upholster too) as he was with the shiny new nickel exterior. I had also removed all the old paint from the rear bumper, front tongue and propane tank and repainted them with a satin platinum grey/silver to match the Nissan 4x4 truck rims that replaced the rusty old Airstream stamped steel spoked rims. When i eventually sold it the first person to look at it bought it on the spot, i should have asked more for it but i paid $400, spent $1100 and sold it for $2500 back in around 1984 as i recall which seemad like a lot of money at the time and i am sure i went out and bought another project to work on.

Hi Cindy, What a shame you live all the way over in Wisconsin. My friend Shannon is selling a great 1958 El Rey 25 foot trailer that i have posted for her here on Good ole RV's. The interior is in excellent shape and ready to go camping, live in or restore (or all of the above)! El Reys where manufactured by ex Airstreme employees and look very much like a Airstream. Shannons just needs the exterior polished and some bumper and tounge paint to make the exterior look as good as the inside. It is all original including the roof air except for the updated refridgerator. Shannon has serious health problem otherwise she would not be selling her "Baby". Shannon is losing 3 to 4 quarts of blood every couple of weeks and has to get transfusions on a regular basis. They have been unable to determine why or where she is losing so much blood. A few weeks ago they gave her a Camera Capsule to digest to take a look around her insides but that only helped them determine what was not causing her blood loss. I feel sorry for the person who had to retrieve the camera capsule when it passed through her system....LOL...!
I am a construction foreman but i am also a certified automotive technician and RV technician and i use to work for Poulsbo RV which is one of the largest RV dealers/service shops in Washington. So if you have any questions feel free to drop me a line.
Sincerely Les
