Welcome Daphne, my first RV was a Ford pick up and a two man tent; LOL. I spent many years teaching my sons and my self the joys of camping hiking and respecting the out doors from the bed of what ever we had at the time and, the many tents we out grew or just plain wore out. I still love the old tents and camping out of my old truck but a mining accident forced me to look at alternative means so to speak. We found a little Coleman pop up that for many years filled the bill for me and I still have and on occasion use to this day. They are inexpensive user friendly and for the most part low maintenance. Could something like that be an option for you? After the boys graduated college and moving on I found my self looking for a motor home to travel around in with my good four legged friend PJ. I stumbled across a vintage 1978 class c made by Travelcraft and fell in love with the old girl. I found this one on Craigslist. A word of caution here. Craigslist is a great place for people to find great value but it is also a great place for scum bags to take you for a ride. use it with great caution. There are a lot of really honest people on there as well who just need to move something out and give you a good deal as well. Probably the very best thing I found to help me get the best of my RV's be it the Coleman or the Travelcraft or even a tent and a pick up truck is this web site, Good old RV's for the rest of us. Take a look around find the resources that others have generously provided for all to take advantage of. Learn what to look for in a used RV and what it takes to maintain one. Or hit the blogs and see how others have lovingly restored a dilapidated old heap into a beautiful functional rolling piece of art. You can find all of that here and good knowledgeable folks who like nothing more than to lend you a hand with good solid advice on most any topic related to the RV lifestyle, be it a tent and a truck to a converted over the road passenger Bus, or even like you and many other members some one who just really really wants one. Welcome to GORV's
