RV Water Heater tip

For several years the water heater on our motor home had a tendency to sound like it was blowing up. We took it to a shop who checked it out and said it was caused by a low battery failing to…Continue

My wife bought an Aristocrat Hi Liner that she plans on restoring. It has been used as storage shed for the past 15 years and is a real basket case. We have been looking for original exteriors parts for the past year; we plan on a complete modification of the interior. We think it is a 1963 (no title for it YET!), about ten foot + tongue, and barely clears the ground. Any ideas and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Cataloging?

I would like to find a link to a cataloging of older small camp trailers showing sufficient details and unique features  that can help identify the manufacture, year, and unique features  I did find an attempt by someone to put together something like this but it was incomplete with small photos and very little details.

Maybe with such a listing a cataloging of available information such as when and where manufactured, availability of parts, service manuals and schematics for…

Can I repair fiberglass?

My motor home has wide curved fiberglass corners wrapping around the rear and extending from the bumper to the roof. I have no idea what has happened but I now have three large cracks approximately 1/2 way across the column and one break that goes all the way across. The fiberglass appears to be appx. 3/8" thick. The rest of the MH is fine and I see no impact spots that may suggest why this part has broken.

Is there a repair I can do myself? The closest RV shop is a 70 mile from…

Many thanks Chris (and yes I do), John T and Pat. I thought I would get a chance this weekend to follow up on your suggestions and hopefully find it all to be a minor problem but I ended up with yard sprinkler problems so the MH took second priority. Hopefully some time this week I can pull the cover and follow your suggestions!

Many thanks to all…

RV is Dead!

I have a 2004 Class C Motor Home on a Ford Chassis. I make it a point of starting and running the engine and generator at least once a month when it is not in use. A couple of months ago I was running the engine and I hit the start button on the generator. There was a loud "Pop" and everything stopped. I can not get the engine or the generator to turn over.

I assumed it was a fuse under the hood but when I pulled the cover off the fuse box I could not determine which fuse is which;…
