Advise on filtering system for fresh water tank

Hi Good Old RVers, I'm replacing the whole water system in my 1965 Layton. I know it is important to install a filtering system for the fresh water tank, probably at the point before it goes through the shower and faucets. I've been looking for filtering systems but I'm not sure what is it exactly that I need. My idea is to filter sediments before the tank is filled, so I mostly need a filtering system to take care of microorganisms and odors (mostly chlorine, which I read you want to keep in…See More

"small holes are the mounting holes and the larger hole is a guide pin hole or weep hole for moisture."

I see two different sized holes in the lens, and slightly different patterns in the base. Layton was made in Pa. by Skyline Corp. Eventually sold off to Evergreen who just closed recently. Always known for superior quality & that's why so many vintage Layton campers exist today. You got a Layton...you got lucky! Best wishes.
