Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I had a blockage in the left anterior descending artery. I had only 15% function when that part of the heart began operating again after the stint was put…Continue

Finally had a warm day, 38 degrees and basically no wind so I got the ceiling tore out and 2 of the panels cut.
Warning about RV Nation. They had the padded vinyl material. Started to order 3 yards of it and when i got into the checkout process, they were going to charge me $201 for shipping on $58 worth of product. Uhmm nope, ain't goona happen.
Found a place called All Vinyl Fabrics. They had a padded marine vinyl. Little more expensive, it cost me $75 but…

I finally got a hold of one side tool box and got it installed on my pickup. Had several lined up but by the time I got to them someone else had snatched them up. One of the drawbacks to living in a sparsely populated area, it takes time to drive to where these items are located.
Anyway here are pictures of the first successful install.…

Day 1, Monday 8-22-16:
I was planning on leaving the house at 2PM today, so as per usual we left at 3PM. Which is better than the 4PM it would normally have been. When DW finally realized that US 412 is mostly a 2 lane highway she got noticeably upset. Being the well trained husband that I am I answered "Yup, it sure is." maybe not one of my better responses but it got the point across and dagger stares for the next 50 miles.
For those of you who have not traveled US 412 across…

well as per usual we got a late start. DW thinks the day does not begin until 1PM so it was 1:30 when we got on the road.
Got stuck on the freeway for 3 hours on I55N, no sign of a wreck or construction when the traffic started clearing so don't know what the problem was.
Got to the KOA in Eureka, MO about 10PM. Some out of the road but could not locate a RV Park on our main route so made this 30 mile detour LOL.
More fun and games to be…

Thanks for the welcome! Do you go by Russell or Russ? I sure am anxious to get some seasoned opinions...
a couple months ago while looking for an inexpensive camper trailer we stumbled across a 1987 31ft Class A Pace Arrow in nearly showroom condition with less than 10,600 miles on it. The short story is this – a farmer in rural upstate NY bought and drove it home from the showroom during the summer of 1987. He and his wife took it on a trip to CA and then again to Florida. That fall he converted an old grain silo into a storage garage where it’s been stored on a raised wooden floor and out of the elements. After that first year his wife suddenly became sick, and eventually passed away. It was virtually never used again. He routinely would go out a couple times a year and drive it around his compound to keep the tires in shape, checked the various systems, kept a small amount of fresh gas in it, and made sure there were no rodent invasions. This past summer the farmer turned 86 and he decided to use the silo for some other purpose, so he decided it was time to say goodbye to “Elmer”. We happened along at the perfect time.
The exterior needs good wash and wax job, but that’s about it. The interior is pristine. It’s been kept out of the sunshine for decades and thus the upholstery fabric is in showroom condition. I thoroughly inspected it all throughout and couldn’t find a single mouse dropping. The old farmer said that other than some rain during that first year, it has never seen any foul weather, including ice, snow or road salt. The undercarriage is amazing. The rubber components are all in great condition, the engine is smooth and strong, the transmission shifts solidly and quietly, and when I took it to the RV shop near our home to be inspected the proprietors kept raving about its incredible condition. Additionally, I have a neighbor who happens to be a 25 year RV tech specializing in upgrades and repairs who tells me it’s extremely valuable as a vintage RV. Several times he has referred to it as nearly museum quality.
So here is my dilemma – Is this really special? My wife and I are starting a new business and perhaps its worth more to us if we sold it. But then again, I could quickly fall in love with the Class A life style.
What is your gut instinct? What could an old RV in this kind of condition really be worth?
Thanks so much. I bought a used Security Penthouse 32 ft. And want to update the inside the body seems in great shape but without a manual finding it hard to check everything out. I can't find the grey and the black tanks to make sure they are drained for winter. I found the clear water cand the water heater but that's all. The coleman airconditional blows cold air when on 110 volts, but no heat at this point. The Domestic fridge doesn't seem to work on 110. yet.
I m doing my best to get there!
Hey Russ, read my post please.
i would take u up on it.. heads and carb are rebuilt. i cannot even turn crank to try and unhook the trans . it ate #4 cylinder and imploded the piston when the old intake gasket dumped all the antifreeze in the cylinder. cranked it over for comp tests and flushed it with kerosene . took 2 weeks to get the pan out (eventually cut it out) and the kerosene i think seised all the bearings. i need to turn crank 1/8 turn to get the rod in #4 out to even look at the cylinder damage. Replaced the balancer bolt with a milodon and a 4 ft breaker on 3/4 drive stock will not turn it. (it did turn it tighter by 2 revolutions but I stopped at that point in tightening it.
Sorry for the delay in post... Thank you very much for the wishes!
