got a new puppy a couple of months ago, so every spare minute of time is going to him and not the camper. Put new calipers and pads on and went last weekend for a much needed rest! will be going again next weekend and hope to eventually keep going on the rebuild. Everything is probably going to wait until early October or next spring to do any more. We just can't bear the thought of ripping it apart and not camping for a couple of years. On the bright side, I found a complete set of Pacific…

I never posted about the end of our vacation in September because I was too fed up with our camper. The last day as we were driving home from New Hampshire about 150 miles from home the front end began to drag to one side and I could smell the unmistakable aroma of brake pads being fried. When I put the brakes on to grab a quick exit ramp nothing happened! They had overheated and glazed over.…

Forgot to upload pics from camera, Oh well. Our youngest decided to get married this year so all work halted on camper so I could build patio and fireplace for the ceremony and a ten foot rib pit for the BBQ. All time and resources went into the wedding and party so the camper got cobbled back together enough to take on a mini vacation up to New Hampshire for a few days after the wedding and we called it a day! Winterizing to begin and we'll start all over next year finishing up the Cabinet…

I've been too busy to get any work done for several weeks, so I took the day after the fourth off from work to get back inside the camper all day to keep things moving. Plumbing is getting moved and the base cabinets are almost framed out. First upper is…

We've had too much rain to pop out the large side window so I could put in the last of the new plywood. Yesterday was clear so I had at it. Of course the screw heads were rusted in place and just spun without moving. So I had to twist them out like this. 50 screws in all and 37 of them had to come out a half turn at a time. I was going to drill the…

My wife made the mistake of peeking in here. I am redoing the center section from the bath to the drivers seat. Next year the bath and bedroom and probably the cab over.
Using the old insulation to lay out the new roof ribs.It was molded to the old ribs…

The next leg of this journey to rebuild while trying not to actually take it apart ! From the start I wanted to be able to continue to use the camper without months of down time. concentrating on a small piece at a time so each section could be tackled and finished in a couple weeks and not months. It was a good theory, but it harder to refurbish this way. But I'm committed to it now.
The kitchen cab and sink stick out into the walk way and take up precious floor space. I am…

the rubber is on, a few wrinkles here and there that i can live with. you can see the outlines of the two vent openings from the bathroom and the shower stall. i ran out of money and time to replace them so I'm blocking up the voids with plywood panels and putting the vents in next…

I tried to drop the position of the drip rails as low as I could so if and when I reside, there is some wiggle room to remove and re-seat the rails. If we reside, I am seriously considering plywood with a marine grade epoxy based kind of paint rather than aluminum or…

I would not do this again without setting up some help for the other end of the 20' rail. I used duct tape to hold it all in relative position till I could get a couple screws into it.

It rained all morning, but when I got home from work, it had been sunny for several hours so I peeled back the tarp and had at it.
