I have had to park the RV ('70 Grumman 25 ft long including a 2 ft extended rear bumper which has a storage box sitting on it) on the street in North Hollywood until I get a better home for it. I live in Burbank and can park only 3 days ( with permit) before having to move it out the next two days. A hassle but I wanted to "get" the RV before it got away from me.
Concerned that the batteries will disappear one night....I spent the last two days creating a steel barrier (1 inch by 1/2 inch bar stock) with big padlock to secure the battery tray. They still can get the batteries but this will definitely slow them down. Soon I will add an alarm on the outer door.
The next step is dealing with the old gas in the tank. I really do not want to drop the tank at this time so I think I will connect the electric fuel pump up with a good (large) filter to trap particles and gunk which will remain in the tank after flushing it out. I hope I can get the drain plug out of the bottom of the tank.
Slooooow progress......!

James and Yvonne.....thanks for the tip on "blaster". I actually have some and will start to use it today. Glad, to hear that some of the stuff you see advertised actually works. this is the kind of feed back that makes this site great!
Has anyone done a solar panel installation? I am an electrical contractor and can calculate the solar output vs. loads but haven't pushed the numbers yet. Would like to power a small refrigerator.....I think I may not have enough real estate on the roof for the panels needed for this constant load. Just curious.
Would you do a "restoration" on a '70 RV? More interested in making it living room comfy and functional. I will be redoing the entire interior so I can do anything. Main concern is the fact that the YELLOW Formica was the "in" color of the day but it sure is God-awful ugly! Help me make up my mind.
