well as per usual we got a late start.  DW thinks the day does not begin until 1PM so it was 1:30 when we got on the road.

Got stuck on the freeway for 3 hours on I55N, no sign of a wreck or construction when the traffic started clearing so don't know what the problem was.

Got to the KOA in Eureka, MO about 10PM.  Some out of the road but could not locate a RV Park on our main route so made this 30 mile detour LOL.

More fun and games to be posted tomorrow.

Day 5

Today was so uneventful it is a shame to type anything up.  We left Ogden IA at 12:30 and got to North Sioux City, SD about 5.  Short day but it was just right.

US 20 is not a bad road, but in this MH it was plenty rough.  Hence my pleasure at a short day.  I was glad to get this thing parked and get someplace comfortable, that drivers seat and my behind were fast becoming mortal enemies LOL.

We will get an earlier start tomorrow, I hope--did I say that out loud?  SHHHH don't tell DW I said that.

Take care all and be safe in all that you are doing.

Day 4

Well I slept most of the day away.  Got up long enough to eat brunch at 11 then back to bed till 4.  It is not 8 and after I put this up I will be going back to bed.  The old body just has to regroup after the last 3 days of pushing.

We will be pulling out of Iowa on Sunday around noon, not early, but not too late either.  Will maybe make 250 miles tomorrow, I should say 150-200 miles by the time we take our eat and stretch break.

Safe travels all till next time.

Sorry for your loss.

I'm jealous that you're out there making big trips in your vintage RV. I don't have the vacation time for anything but semi-local trips. I HATE sitting in traffic with my rig. I'll usually leave really early in the morning or late at night to avoid it. I'm super paranoid about it overheating in traffic, though it's never given me any indication that it would.

Day 2

We got out of St Louis about 8:30, yes everyone but me was still asleep LOL.  We got to Ogden, Iowa about 7:30 Thursday night.  The day was long but fortunately uneventful.

Day 3

Not such a happy day but it is the reason we came to Iowa first, we had the funeral for my BIL who had brain cancer.  So there is lots of mourning and tears, right up to the end he seemed to maintain his smile and laughter.  So the food part is setting up now and the house will be filled with people and Richard will pass from memory for most of them and for the next year the family will be going through the grieving process.

Anyway we are doing fine, will be pulling out of here no later than Monday.
