Sparrow's 1973 Auto-Mate, a new life for both of us.

I have been living in my new to me 1973 Auto Mate Travel Trailer for a few weeks now. I am so new to rv living it isn't funny. I have never slept in an rv til this year.

Neccessity required me to be creative with my living situation and I bought my travel trailer and parked in my own back yard to live in. I am renting out my house.
I have no running water! I filled the tank. and no water. I finally figured out that there is a pump somewhere. I am trying to figure out where and how do I turn it on!!! lol Then I have also been looking where to just hook it up to my city water source and I cannot find an inlet. Fortunately I am good at living primitive. And I am parked in my own backyard. I can still go into the house to use the facilites. I would really like to be more self contained in the trailer, so I don't have to keep bringing my dirty dishes in the house to wash and it would also be nice to be able to do a bit more simple personal care in the trailer as well.
Any help in locating a water hookup, the pump and the switch would be much appreciated.
This old trailer did not come with a manual, sure wish it did!

Thank you Pat for that warning. I knew the prior owner had done a good job cleaning it. He also had just been on a camping trip. I do not drink the city water, since it is chlorinated and I don't care for the taste of it. I get well water for drinking and cooking from a friend. I am very sensitive to chemicals and always have to look for alternatives. It can be quite the nuisance at times. ;)

It will certainly make it that much more difficult refurbishing this old trailer.  lol

I have filled the holding tank. No problem finding it and it's water entry. But it is just a big opening, not sized for a hose. I do have the pressure reducing valve and potable water hose. I will have to look again in the morning. Same goes for the pump. My back has been out. so no crawling around on all fours for me for afew days. lol  Like my mom says: growing old is not for sissies!

I have my grey water diverted to water my trees and a composting toilet.

If you can locate your fresh water holding tank, your pump should be close by. When you find the small pump, (has a hose from fresh water tank going to it), there will be wires from the pump heading in the direction of the switch.  The fresh water hook-up is on the passenger side of the rig, usually has a female end of a hose fitting on it. (when you locate it, make sure you use a pressure regulator (walmart etc.) because city water pressure is higher then what RV's use. Second, make sure you have a septic sewer system to hook up to to dump your waste water and toilet tank(s). You dont want those to overfill.
