I had posted about my previous gas water heater being possessed by evil demons, a.k.a. poltergeist. RV guy, totally tore it apart. Flushed the channels and compartment. Installed every component with new out of the box. Hooked gas up to it, set regulator pressure and flipped it on. Of course it was just a teaser for a few minutes till the evil demons decided to show themselves, irractic flame, burps, hick ups, then poof, flame out and several failed attempts to restart. He has confirmed that it is indeed possessed by evil poltergeist. He removed all the replacement parts and is going to seal the remainder in several plastic bags and dispose of properly. He had mention, sealing it in a vault of concrete with 3 foot thick walls, but that was out of his budget. The new gas water heater I installed has a few quirks but is do able, and that's why I have installed my electric water heater, have to have my hot water, cuz face it,, cold water showers really suck.
So. If you have an appliance that is giving you grief,, it just mite be that you also have a poltergeist.
