Good day, I am RonaId Morris, I saw your profile and I decided to contact you immediately. Can you get back to me on my email (ronmorri01@gmail.com) for full details. Regards.
Did you make any modification to your engine cover? To me, the way it hinges doesn't allow much room for engine work. I was thinking of using straps that semi trucks use to secure the engine cover. You know, those robber bungie strap things that use tension? I could have them secured on the floor. Would make removal of the cover easy.
Why did you choose the 360? Why not 383, 413, 440? I love the idea of putting a fresher, bigger engine into the Glastron- but I fear that it may be out of my budget. I'm not a mechanic, so I would have to pay for 90% of that kind of work.
Happy to hear that your Glastron is being well taken care of.
From my minimal browsing of the site, you seem to be the resident Glastron expert. I've owned a 1970 Glastron for about a year and a half. It's a project! In pretty good overall condition though. I'll have to post some pictures. I have big plans for it. Hopefully they can be done on a tight budget. I'd love to hear any advice you have regarding these beauties.
Here are some of my major plans: -composting toilet -solar set-up -new audio system -new AC unit -possibly engine swap? 413? 440? Diesel? (depends if practical/affordable) -roof redone -floor redone -paint job -gauges working + extra gauges if necessary -windows re-sealed
And of course, many other smaller things. I hope your Glastron is faring well.
Thx Gary! Just happened to run across this site. Might have seen you around the Big City of Azle! We're in the process of "resurrecting" a '61 Airstream. Tons of work but will be worth it!
Thanks Gary. Love the site. You guys have some great rigs. Building is great practice and you know exactly what you have when you're done. It's plenty of fun when you take a pile of scrap and turn it into something you can use. Also you don't send any money to China...
Thank you Gary it feels great to be here. I won't be able to go actively shopping for my rig and trailer for a couple more years, but it sure doesn't hurt to do some researching about it now. What is your experience with slide-outs on trailers. I'm thinking about going for one without slides. Less to break, less to worry about, and won't have to worry about if the parking slip I'm in is big enough.
I am so glad I found this site! I came across it while searching for ideas regarding rubber roof repair.....and I found good advice as well. There are a lot of RV forums online, but I never was motivated to join them. I love this one!
Thanks for the info Gary. I will post some pictures soon, I have been so busy trying to get things going on it that I have not got a chance to take pictures. I got the generator going now, it was a little dirty in the carb and I seem to have the Air conditioner going now. I noticed I dont have brake lights as well.
No, I'm not familiar that I know of. I know a lot of snows. I knew a Charlie Snow but he only had sons and died Dec. 2011. I know the Snows in Baywood community. Gay Snow and her late husband Harry owned Baywood Store.

I agree with older made travel trailers. The ones from the 60's and 70's have got such a 'homey' charm that the new ones lack.
