I'm new here and don't know much about RV's as I have been an extreme remote back packer all my life.

Back packing in 20 miles in, carrying a 60 pound pack and sleeping on the ground is catching up to me at age 50.

I recently was given an 89 Mallard Sprint with 60,000 miles on it. It was owned by an elderly lady who recently passed away and willed to me. She loved this little RV ever much and tried to take care of it.

Mechanically it is very sound, the Chevy 350 runs great, tires are new, hoses and belts are good and it passed N.Y.S. Safety inspection with absolutely no problems.

It has had a recent professional roof replacement. It measures 20 ft. stem to stern

It does have a lot of cosmetic issues. Paint is very oxidized and pin stripping is totally shot. Refrigerator is no longer there. Stove works but I don't know about the water heater or roof top unit.

I'm very excited about this restoration project and think that I see a lot of fun ahead for me and my Beagle Barney.

I don't see myself traveling any more then a couple of hundred miles, most trips will be local camp grounds with electric on site and a place to dump a canoe in for me and Barney to go fishing, drink beer and have camp fires. Maybe a once a year trip to Cape Cod because Barney loves to chase seagulls. :) :)

Our restoration project

We took the mirrors off the doors yesterday, they where a rusted mess. Ground all the rust and old paint off and gave them a fresh coat of paint. They look like new !!!

We are installing a microwave today and deciding where the TV and DVD player will be mounted.

Couldn't get anything done last week end. way to cold, windy and raining here in New Lebanon, N.Y.

John thanks for your comments, I recently bought this and the previous owner said the leak appeared to be under the tub since that is where he saw the water leaking out above the rear wheels when the pump was on and the water was under pressure. It appears to be a supply line issue?
