Refrigerator Repair - Trav'ler by Elixir

Ok, so I have this 1976 Tioga Sportsman which has been really good to me. I bought this thing in 2014 while I was working in Oregon. I have since driven it back to my home state of Texas and have it parked in my back yard with all the amenities hooked up it. It is a real conversation piece when my friends and family come over to visit and I tell them that me and my wife have lived in it. Anyways.....I am really starting to ramble here, and the real reason I am blogging is to cover another…

Tioga Sportsman. If your still having an electrical problem may I suggest that you try doing some basic electrical P.M.. Start by gathering a few tools: A small brass wire brush (small like a breach brush), a big can of WD40, A Philips and common point screw drivers, a smart phone or digital camera. a bag of rags and some patience. Start by disconnecting all power supplies. then go through your power panels take pictures then start a visual inspection looking for burnt spots or signs of heat, frayed wires broken wires and loose connections. test screw connections with your screw driver. do one wire at a time. if you find a loose screw pull it out and clean the connection with the wire brush give it a shot of WD40 and reattach to the terminal. use your picture for reference if needed and continue this through out your camper. go to the water pump and and do the same thing also any connections made with spade connectors or any type connectors for that matter. Be careful, take your time use lots of pictures and hopefully you will run across your problem child and put it to bed. an other tip if you see green clean it. and if you smell ozone there's probably a loose connection causing it so you will know your close. If your weird like me you'll find this somewhat therapeutic, anyway good luck with it

welcome aboard and what ever you do enjoy the lifestyle. We have been fulltimers since 2006. Started with class c and are in a class a.The first thing I found in a class c was the front curves on the cap leak bad. Make sure that you use the right sealant or you will redo alot .enjoy and happy times.
