i have a 1985 rockwood with the original water tank. someone repaired it at sometime in its life and now it is leaking in the same spot. it looks like some black epoxy was used to seal it up. how can i fix this? can i use epoxy sealer over it again? dont really want to buy a new tank. how would you fix the leak?

Hi Bill, what is your tank made of?
its made of that white plastic. i think its call polyethylene.
That Flex Seal is the shadizzle.. Ive used it twice as was impressed, Lady dove made a point tho,, Prep the repair area first. I also got some *water heater strapping,, And made 3 wraps around the tank for stability, especially on an older soft plastic tank. The strapping just gave the sides durability to keep from bulging.
It's been a year, and so far I havent heard of any leaks from the gentleman I did the repair for. Beats buying a new tank for now.
do you think new epoxy sealer will stick to the old epoxy sealer
That would pretty much be like putting a bandaide over a bandaide. If at all possible, remove the old epoxy and prep the area for a new repair. That flex seal is available online,Lowes,Kmart,Walmart, Home depot ,Ace hardware. Just about everywhere it seems,, Its become a very popular product,, Plus its easy to use.
