Hello: I have a 1968 RItz Craft trailer 11 feet long. The electrical was shot so I am rewiring but am confused as to the fridge and furnance (if I have one) Found fuse box. Larger plug on outside of trailer -- i know that's for shoreline power. Inside 30 amp Murray fuse box with 2 circuits. I have taken all interior walls out, patched roof replaced floor. will redo dinette area later on. I did make the new sliding sofa/bed in back already, put cushions back there for now.

I've re-ran 14 guage wire and 15 amp outlets, switch and will install celing lights later after walls back in. Making a few lights solar as well. Questions:

First, But my problem is the fridge, there are two. One is a montgomery wards model, the other is an embrace model. There are no control panels in front. Are they strictly lp gas powered?  Or should there be an electrical ac hookup as well somewhere? There is nothing inside the fridges, I've looked.

Secondly, there are two power lines and one lp gas line coming in right drivers side of camper. Unsure where those elec lines go to, or what they may have been attached to. I tried tracing them. I believe the propane line used to go to furnance under dinette, but am not sure. Has a round "burner" attached to it.  The electrical lines are just cut off and were lying in dinette box area. There is a large 15 amp elec line, and a smaller 14 or 16 guage red elec line coming out of bathroom area. There is a light in the bathroom also.

Third, What are red smaller elec lines for? I have rewired running lights and will add teardrop lights after paint body next spring.

Fourth, where would water pump be? Under sink? I've looked still hunting. Or where these trailers strictly pressure demand -- you attach hose, no water storage. I've looked under camper no storage tank.

Fifth, water heater?? still looking.

THanks for all your help.  THis year I can tow it with lights and visit with you all in person!!!! Thanks for the help  SOphia

Can you take some pictures of the wires and area where they are found? Usually, where shore water comes in, is where they proximinate a fresh water holding tank.( Most fresh water holding tanks fill on drivers side of trailer) On the outside of the RV, behind fridge location is a service panel. This will quickly let you know if its a propane fridge also.  The water heater has an external access door also. (they have to have lighting and exhaust area). Not all Rv's had water heaters. But if you could post some side view pictures of trailer it will give everyone here a better understanding of what your working with.

If there was a water tank someone removed it. I took pictures underneath but have to post them first. I am on google chrome book and using someone elses laptop to post pictures. If no water heater then how water heated for sink shower?? I appreciate everyones help.

There is a cabinet under sink that I need to open? I am going do pictures first; then try and do a you tube video? Sophia  HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!!

These are the kind of questions if we were there we could answer instantly, but its hard over the net to know just whats what. Often ???? there's a house battery somewhere and a small 12 VDC distribution panel with small automotive type fuses for circuits to power a few interior 12 volt lights, maybe a fresh water pump, maybe a vent fan somewhere. There could be somewhere near that 12 VDC power a small battery Converter/Charger (120 VAC to 12 VDC) that will power the 12 VDC lights etc plus charge that house battery. Where the 120 VAC shore power cord enters there would be a small 120 VAC fuse or breaker panel with Romex cables running in the camper for 120 VAC outlets.

Tell ya what, this is hard over the net while so easy if there, if you're totally inexperienced Id find someone near you that has some basic camper systems knowledge and talk to him. If you look at the rear of the fridge its pretty easy to see if there's LP gas lines to it and/or 120 VAC power and/or 12 VDC power. Are there one or two 20#  LP Gas tanks up front???

There are two lp tanks in the front. I will go out and look today and see from the back. I found the little panel box, but the only place for dc power is through the trailer hook up. I will take some pictures later and post them. I appreciate the help.

I've got 4 trailer and rv repair books. I also have an owners manual maintenance book by shasta for the 60s I can copy and send if anyone needs it.

Okay here we go. I made 4 videos some of which may be repeat. I will load them as I can today. Thank you all for your help. SOphia

Okay here is another video. Thanks,

Two twenty gallon propane tanks. I took pictures video am trying to upload now. Am on iPad book so going to laptop later today tomorrow. I took pictures those doors back of fridge. Will try post,. Thank you for help.
