We're currently fixing up a 1959 Rainbow 20' Travel Trailer. We'd like to add a bunk bed on the back right sidewall. We'd like it just in case one of our grandchildren need to fit in, though we don't plan on needing to use it as a bed too often. My question is, what are the usual dimensions of a small bunk? Good foam is so expensive, & I don't want it to take up alot of room so I was wondering if a nice quality outdoor chaise lounge cushion would suffice? It's about 23" wide x 73" long. I can't find any info on the size of those small, upper bunks that you see so I'm hoping someone can give some info - thanks!!!

On a *Bunkhouse Rv the average size of a bunk is 24 to 36 inches, by 73 inches.  Ive seen bunks put in with a Flip up or flip down frame that folds up or down depending how you want it set up and it sits close to the wall when not in use. (using a piano type long hinge to attach bunk frame to the wall).

For a child a 24 by 70 inch bunk is sufficient.
