I just bought this 83 Brougham rv and the gen charges the battery, but no A/C to the camper. There is a 30A outlet mounted right inside of where the power cord is stored. The power cord was cut. and I am adding a male 30A plug. it did come with a 30A extension cord.  The A/C does work when plugged to shore power. Could the Gen be powering that box? Plugging the RV cord into that box be how I get A/C to the camper? I do not see any power center. just the A/C-D/C power bow with CB and Fuses.

Thanks for the help.

Jim, the best way to do it is to have a friend or a BIL who is a mechanic and has a transmission jack and lots of air tools.  LOL

That always helps!

Something Ive tried in this vein...spray mister bottle. Just spray in the intake while upping the throttle a little to maintain rpm. You can feel the carbon out the exhaust. There are other commercial products for this. Prolly should do before the plugs...

Not sure if I have this right, but I seem to remember reading about using Marvel Mystery Oil to clean out the carbon.  I think that you start and bring the genset to temp and then pour the oil into the carb until it stalls the engine.   Then leave it over night and start it the next day.  I remember that the article stated that a scope was then unserted in the plug holes and no carbon was observed.  Does anyone know if this works?  If it does, it would seem to save a lot of work.

Back in the day we would just spray plain old tap water in the carb as it was running worked great for my cars might work for small engines as well. the thing about carbon is it can act like a glow plug and cause detonation and also when near/on the intake valves it can distort the fuel air mix entering the combustion  chamber causing incomplete burns. poor performance and wasted fuel

I guess I left water out of my response...eh rich?...lol
