At a quandary folks,

I have a Class A, 2000 Coachman Mirada (30 ft) with a Ford V 10.  I would like to make the exterior look cleaner and newer as I am traveling, however,it appears to be a thick vinyl or hard plastic make and I am not sure how to address this. I have tested some paint in hidden areas over a few months and it is not appealing after just a short time. Thought about taking the entire shell off but would not know how or what to replace it with.

Have not seen any content on this question and am looking for pictures, discussion, or direction.

Thanks to any that can help!

Here is an article from the Do IT Yourself RV people. It will describe ways to restore the gel coat on your fiberglass. If you don't want to do this yourself, it will be expensive but you can have someone do it, like a body shop or a person who does auto detailing.

Thank you so much for replying!  I am just concerned that this exterior shell is not fiberglass or aluminum. It really looks and feels like a rolled 1/8 inch vinyl that was rolled on and possibly glued.  I could be wrong, as my wife points out regularly, but I would like something definite on this product.

Russell is correct, Its Fiberglass with a fancy name. (Its also Gluten free).

According to the Coachmen website the sidewalls are High Gloss Gelcoat Sidewalls. And according to everything I can find, that means it is fiberglass.

Thanks so much!  I even called them and they were no help since they were bought out.  They wont commit to any answers.---dpb
