Dawn is one of the few Ladies,, to even think about tackling a project, (yes there are a lot of woman who will get their hands dirty), But she admits its a challenge, and isnt scared to get right in there elbows deep. Shes learning like ALL of us,, trial and error, learn as we go.We have all seen it on paper and it looked ok,, till we applied it to real life and say to ourselves,, well,,that didnt go as expected,, and instead of hanging our head in defeat, we dust off the bad experience and attack the issue from a different angle. I have showed a few of my old timer,,set in their ways kind of guys, That Dawn is just like one of the guys (in a good way), That she will get right into a project and be stubborn enough to get it done. Have to admire that in a person,, refuse to give up. Your an inspiration Dawn,, We enjoy following your progress, And rebuilding an older rig is far more rewarding then fixing something new that shouldnt have fallen apart as quickly as they do..
So when someone says,, You Can't do that,,, You can say,, Ex-squeeze me? say what? Oh no you Ditint. , Hold my beer, I got this,,, Keep up the good work..
Thanks Rich! I guess I have gotten a little low the last week and that helps to have the reassurance. It is a good reminder - I did look at newer RVs but they felt "cheap" - you could just tell everything was flimsy. When the BF first got her here, I remember thinking when I looked her over that Juno didn't have that feeling. Sure there is thin wood but I'm not finding that pressed paper-like stuff he was showing in the water damage video!! And really, besides the water pump being next to the converter, there really was some thought into how to access everything (unlike my old Bounder - don't get me on my soapbox again on that!). Whatever I run into I can fix. I just have to keep my eye on that and remember - a lot of this stuff I am enjoying.
You did make a good choice Dawn, everything you have done so far is something you could have potentially had to do with a much newer and costlier rig. Plus the knowledge you have gained is hard to put a price on. Just wait until these new Jayco's become good old RV's can you imagine !
Thanks for the thumbs up - I feel like we got a good deal - lots of detail work and there were hidden issues - but overall I think it's a solid unit both mechanically and structurally. I said I wanted to know this rig from top to bottom and the goddess complied - I'll have done a little of everything when she's ready to go! I'll be confident that I can fix most anything by the time I get her on her first major trip!! There are days though I wonder as the money goes out the door and projects keep getting bigger, or go slower that I anticipate, and it's nice to have some validation and reminder that nothing has changed. I still made a good choice.
