I understand that you can use the same material that is used when using Pergo ... under lament of some kind maybe?

Thanks Kevin. I have heard of the Kreg jig from someone else on here as well. I did a quick internet search and found out that I can buy it for about $5 cheaper at the woodworkers warehouse and we have on here in town so I am definitely going to pick that up as well as the clamp.

This is the jig I used for all connections. I also used the clamp.http://www.kregtool.com/Face-Clamp-3-Reach-Prodview.html

I used the blue cote 2 1/2 inch screws.

The floor framing is 2x3.

Kevin I have another simple question, but can you tell me what size screws you used on the walls? It looks like with your hole jig and the distance from the other piece of wood those are some pretty long screws.

I was also looking at your floor and it looks like the lumber on the outside frame is bigger than 2x2's is that correct?

I am hoping to have everything taken off of my camper today so I can start working on my floor, but it is kind of cold outside today and my camper is outside. Thanks Kevin.

I did use the foam insulation in the floor but didn't like the idea of no airspace in the wall. I quite frankly didn't know what I was going to use for a while. I found foil with bubble wrap between but the would not compress enough. Like I said, I just happened upon this at Menards. I new instantly it was what I needed. If you are on facebook, we have a group page devoted to the rebuild. Just look me up and I can send you an invite. We have alot of photos there as well.

Thanks for the update Kevin. The work you have done so far is immaculate. I can't wait to see the rest of your work as you progress.

I have never seen anyone use that reflective foil before, and I kind of like it. Lately what I have seen is a lot of people are filling their walls with the styrofoam insulation, which has to be a dramatic improvement to the original factory design.

Thanks again Kevin.

The "foil" is 1/4 inch fiberglass insulation with reflective foil attached to it. It comes in rolls 16" wide and 25 ft long. It's called Solar Gaurd. I attached it to the room side of the framing and then applied my birch paneling over it. This leaves an air space between the inside of the wall and the aluminum skin on the outside. I'll attach the aluminum skin to the street side of the framing. The factory did it the same way(less the foil). I just happened upon this at Menards. Gives me a little thermal insulation along with a radiant heat barrier from the sun while leaving that space for the walls to breath.

I have another question for you regarding your handy work. What is the foil covering that you put on the walls. Is the foil going to be on the outside of the trailer against the siding? Are you going to insulate the inside with foam insulation?

I am curious why you have that on there because you are the first person I have seen to do that. I know nothing about construction and I have heard people talking about allowing the trailer to breathe and having a way for condensation to get out. Are any of these ideas part of your consideration when you are framing the walls?

I apologize for all of the questions, but like I said I am not sure what I am doing and I don't want to make any mistakes on my trailer. I know I can build it just like it was and it will be fine, but I also want to upgrade my trailer and make it better than what the factory originally desgined.

Thanks again for your help.

Craig
