Oh, Man. I got to the end of the block this morning and :( . Stopped and Won't start back up. Saw some fuel coming from the fuel pump so I replaced it. Works great but, still won't start. Now, I don't see a spark at all. Have power to the coil when ignition is on.
Any ideas?

Ok. So, the MH quit again and in a no start situation. Apparently it wasn't the coil after all. Hmmm. Well, I have tested the pickup coil and ECM again. No failures on the ECM but, the PU coil is being a bit eratic. I think maybe the wires have been cooked.
I picked up a new one from OReilly's but, turned out to not be the right one. Could not set the gap any closer than a quarter of an inch. Should be between 6mm and 8mm. So, back it went. They don't have anything else listed.
SO.... me and google had another chat. Seems that the one that's in this distributor is very hard to find. I did find on ebay and bought one from Rock Auto. I have dealt with them before and have had excellent results. It should be here by next monday. Hope it hops a quicker flight and I get it by Friday. Would love to take this up in the hills this weekend.
Anyhow, the fun life of a "vintage" Ol' guy working on a "vintage" MH.
Laffing,,, 4 kazillion miles to the gallon,, to funny...
Thanks Rick, I spent all day trying to figure this out. And finally replaced the coil and resistor. I'm pretty sure it was the coil. So, it's back up and running. And, I'm back at the house that we no longer live in. 17 hour trip around the block!!! And, actually I got super mileage!!! I gained 5 gals and only went a quarter mile!!! That's like 4 kazillion miles to the gallon!!! Great trip!!!
I have no idea what kind of motor you have but if you have a Dodge then you may have a burnt coil or more likely a bad ballast resistor. You do say you have power to the coil though, if you have points have you checked them to see if they have moved?
