It appears the Fireball vintage camper website is closed down since nothing there later than 2014. All existing posts and such disappeared. Another community member confirmed she saw the same. So,…Continue

"Stoves do that just like the pilot setting on all gas stoves, BBQ grills, etc.   As I understand it, that burst ensures there is an overpressure at the burner so spark/fire doesn’t travel back, into the gas line.  Look at your gas…"

Discovered two Fireballs: one the fraternal twin to ours

We attended two vintage camper rallies in October 2018.  At both rallies, strangers walked in to visit our Fireball.  Both visitors shocked us by saying they own Fireball campers and that both are original with no restorations or changes. The first was a 1963 Meteor with toilet (16ST) in Missouri.  The second is a 1964 Meteor (16S) in Arkansas.  When I checked the Arkansas Meteor VIN, its VIN and ours differ by only six digits.  I can only assume both were completed the same week if not the…See More

Four year summer project

In 2014 I committed my wife and myself to a “summer project”: restoring a 1964 Fireball Meteor travel trailer.  How hard could it be, I asked myself.  It was only 13’ long; the videos I watched fucused mainly on woodworking skills; anmd I found what looked to be a likely candidate on eBay.  The seller, Todd Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah sold a book and CD about how to restolre one in a couple of weeks.  He adsvertised it as well maintained, ready to go camping,…
