I WANT TO SNOWBIRD AND FINDING THAT SOME RV PARKS DON'T WANT SMALL TRAILERS. i' VE EVEN BEEN TOLD MY RIG HAS TO BE SELF CONTAINED AND THEY WANT PICTURES.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A RV PARK SOUTH OR NORTH  EASTERN CALIFORNIA THAT WILL ACCEPT A VINTAGE TRAILER FOR WINTER PARKING?

Ruining a trip is not my idea of a fun trip.  Enjoy yourself.

Right on, Lakota! Sounds like a great park. This whole thing is why I mainly just go to State Parks where it's all cool and they don't care how big your rig is. So to speak. :)

Have you encountered the ones with the outdoor giant TV screen? What a joke!

Yea,, 3 of the Mcmasions here have the 60 plus inch outside and I just laugh. going really?   I mean, they are,, there own class of RV'ers.

A few of the older Class A rv'ers are layed back chilled and even joke about roadkill night,(term for *roughing it,using the outdoor bbq with charcoal).

All in all, ya meet a wide variety of good ole Rv'ers, enjoying life as each day brings. I think the coolest RV in here today,(over nighter) is a 1961 Airstream pulled by a 1961 Ford.. I had to get my bib,, I drooled a little.

Be the bad guy all the time!! Raving is for fun, travel, not whine and dine.

Partly OK.  Many of the big rigs, like our real camper (2018 Keystone Montana High Country 310re) is merelyh olur home for winter trips and to stay while visiting our grandkids.  Most folks in the bigger rigs aren’t the country club group you mention.  They are usually older, winter Texans/Floridians and fulltimers.  A small, vintage camper is fine, but not for 4-5 months at a stretch, and not to live in fujlltiming.  You hardly ever see anyone outside.  Yep, it’s not “camping” per se, but 70-80 year olds don’t camp.  Camping, to an old soldier, is is a 2 quart canteen; some MREs; rolled up in a blanket (if you have one) and poncho.  Wanna “camp”?  Don’t think so.  The nice thing ab ouit camping and vintage trailering is the people you meet in person or on these pages; the worst thing about camping and trailering is the the people you meet in person or on these pages.  We can “look down” on people whether we have a McMansion or popup.  It’s only by going out to other campers and meeting the individuals we can get a feel for who and what they are.  Just a thought.  Tchuss!

Your call, but I disagree.  We camp from the Pacific to the Keys.  I see 40+ footers and Class As/5th wheels on both sides of RPODS and popups.  Even some vintage campers, but not that many.  Separating people gets in the way of meeting and experiencing others.  Learned that all too well campinjg in Europe, Scandinavia, England, Scotland, etc.   Made some good friends along the way.  I find that if I go out of my way to “meet and greet”, I benefit more than anyone else.  This last winter I met folks who were stationed in the 8th Infantry Division when I was on my fortst tour; and a couple who were in their very first camper: a 42 foot Montana.  (Now that was a leap of faith!).

We were in Corpus Christi agt the Navy base campground in Feb.  Outstanding!  Snoopy’s and Scoopy’s were fine.  Now Rockport...that a whole ‘nuther story!

Hi Patricia, That's beyond crazy not allowing a pre-2000 camper. All I can think is that they are trying to align themselves with the mobile hone market and property owners. Or there is a legal threat of negligence where folks have claimed a damage occurred to their camper caused by some improprieties of the park proprietors.  Damn... California is the state that all of the ANTIQUE/Vintage RV craze's is fueled out of. They should give you a discount on the basis of vintage and a premium parking place of your choice in the park. Like states do with the registration and plate of a antique/vintage RV. It's always cheaper. Well HAPPY CAMPING, and just know, their is always someone that would love to have a "Relic of History" parked in a choice space of their facility. SMF's.....

If I pull my vintage camper with my vintage truck; I'd be right up there moneywise with the hmmmm best of ;'em....I still want to go South for the winter/spring but will probably be checking out the Parker, AZ area....Surely, they still accept rifraf like they did in the good o'd days so I should feel right at home there.   State Parks, Core of Eng'r's around here are wonderful....so will be content until the snow flies.

Tell em to kiss your grits, think about it, if they're the snobby uppity types who don't want you there THEN WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BE WITH THEM ANYWAY       I FIGURE

Im glad people are rich I don't envy them, I never got a job from a poor person and they buy a lot of stuff which is jobs for us peasants. Still if they are stuck up that's their problem, they are no better then me nor me them in my book.

Money clearly doesn't make you smarter nad it really doesn't make you nicer. Just remember that that kind of RV'er couldn't POSSIBLY be having fun. Too bad! :-)

That State is really pushing the limit on personal choice and freedom. How ironic that they say you can't discriminate against anyone for just about any reason but the age of your RV or camper. Ah, the snobbish tendencies are hard to break....

I've got a 31 year old rig but since it's in good shape and we behave I have not been turned away. I've gotten a lot of rubber-neckers in the campground but nothing bad. I'm usually the oldest RV in the place.
