Yea, we do NOT want to get started on that discussion!

It's funny, I have been to Canada and Mexico quite a few times each and never really even thought about it as "leaving the country". I guess because I was driving there. Other than that I have only ever been out of the country twice, once to Germany and Austria in the 70's, I have a cousin who was born and lives in Germany. And the other time was an all expenses paid trip to Southeast Asia courtesy of the US government. Didn't need a passport for that one either so I really only ever needed a passport for my Germany trip and that was it. Now I would need one just to come see you, well, not to come see you but to get back home.

Laugh my ass off. Yep! You Yanks >GRIN< Need a passport to get back into your own country. Heheehehe You don't need a passport to get into Canada as we don't see Yanks as a threat but obviously your government seems to think you are. Hehehehehehe. Love you all. >GRIN/p>

Many years ago I took a motorcycle trip through Canada and on the way back I hit customs first thing in the morning. Well I had totally forgotten about the crossing so I had all my supplies with me which luckily was mostly breakfast and lunch for that day. The border guard pointed out the problem and I told him I understood and asked if I could just eat at one of the picnic tables there. He said no problem. He was interested in my bike and I told him I had more food than I could eat, would he join me for breakfast? So he did and we sat and talked motorcycles, weather and compared countries for an hour. Very nice guy. Never said a thing about the half carton of cigarettes. Of coarse now you need a passport to get back into the US, that you did not need back then.  I really need to get a new passport.

Crossing with Brad to go to TJ's in the 72 guy was like you're headed where to do what? really?  and you know each other how? and you know those folks how? (he asked it all twice- shook his head and literally could see thought process of (you can't make that sh** up...LOL)  anything on board.. yup packaged food (no fruits or veggies) and 2 cases of beer (allowable).  have fun.   Coming back in.. you did what? really?  wow that's awesome.  have a great day...

I've never understood why guys after a few week after retiring go and get a job at Home Depot. I haven't stopped since I retired. I even thought of getting a job just for a rest. As far as Customs. When coming back to Canada from the State's. The secret is NO SMOKES, NO BOOZE and NO FOOD. Call it as you might we go across several times a year with our old girl  and those are the first three questions Customs ask us going and coming. We buy just enough supplies once we get State side and make sure there all gone coming back. Silly? Well if you don't want your rig torn apart. Works for us.

Good morning;

It would be nice if things would slow down a little.  Isn't retirement supposed to be relaxing?

Right now I am doing the final finishing things to be done to get the Winnebago Elandan ready for a short trek up into British Columbia to the City of Vancouver.  The Number One Grandson is in Chula Vista this week at the Olympic Field Training Facility, and next Monday they will fly to Vancouver to play four games with the Canadian Team before Canada goes to Brazil for the games to be played there.  I will be there to watch and cheer on the TeamUSA guys during the games to be played on the 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th of July in Vancouver and Surrey.

Yes, the Winnebago Elandan is going international.  While the speedometer in the Elandan does have KM/h calibrations also, I will probably use the GPS box switched over to the Metric measurements.

Having an older motor home will be an interesting experience coming back across the border.  Many years back I encountered a grumpy Immigration and Customs Agent who went through everything in the old Ford Van carrying the motorcycles I had been playing with up at the old Westwood Racing Circuit.  Now I am carrying even more in a vehicle about twice the size of the old long wheelbase Ford Econoline van.

The old Ford van was a lot of fun.  It also had "a few modifications" to make it work "a little better."  I guess that now I have "moved up" a little more with the Winnebago Elandan.

I am still learning, still dreaming, and still planning ways to make this one work "a little better" also.

Enjoy;

I went to the CeramicPro web site and also t a few ither places doing some research on it and while it appears to work it is more for new vehicles than anything else. It is pointed out is several places that the warranty is designed to be so restrictive as to be about useless and as far as an older motor home I doubt they would warranty it at all. You also would need A1 surface before coating which most of us with 25 plus year old coaches certainly do not have. I always leave these things up to each person to make their own decisions on. I was employed by a very wealthy gentleman for many years servicing his large collection of antique  and classic cars. He had me constantly evaluating all kinds of additives to see if they were any good in real world situations. I would use the additives then tear an engine down to see if there were any damages or signs of excess wear. Or signs of no wear when there should be. Over many years the only additive I ever found to work as advertised is Marvel Mystery oil. While 95% of the rest did no harm they also did no good so were basically a waste of money.

I am NOT, in any way, saying this is a waste of money since no price has been given. Just saying that there is a LOT of marketing involved. The several references to "More later" are a marketing ploy to keep you coming back and anticipating more.

Zep floor wax has been proven many times over and is pretty cheap.

Caveat Emptor.

Never have to do it again, that would be enough motivation to get it done. More later

Rick, here's the deal. If you are already faced with having to restore the paint, and...you saw the opportunity to neve
