AGM Battery Upgrade

  I have four solar panels, do a lot of dry camping, and  wanted to replace my four old flooded lead acid 6 volt Trojan T-105's (450 Amp Hours) with AGM technology so I don't have to be constantly checking and adding water etc. etc. I went with two Renogy AGM12-200 (200 Amp Hours at 10 hr rate, 208 Amp Hours at 20 hr rate = 416 total) which I picked up at Walmart (they even loaded them for me, 129 lbs each) free shipping for $247 each. On the Renogy website they are $399 each !!!!!!!!!!!  It…

Texas Gulf Coast

 Anyone here camped much on the Texas Gulf Coast between Corpus Christi and Galveston?? I'm asking because I may try some free boondocking along the beach starting at Magnolia Bay (Port Lavaca)  working North in early December. Will it always be windy and maybe cooler ???

Solar Update Cost

 Mornin gang, I have been absent for a while too busy updating my latest RV. While I don't currently own a good "old" RV (its a 2006) that's all I had for like 40 years lol so I feel right at home here.

  MY SOLAR UPDATES

 So, we do a lot of dry camping and in my last RV I had 400 watts or solar which kept my four deep cycle 6 volt golf cart batteries well charged. However, in my latest 2006 29 ft, Class I initially installed 470 flat rooftop solar watts (with…

Hi John;  Thanks for sharing the photos of the NP's. Wonderful Places and Wonderful times. If you have a Twitter account, each one of the NP/s have a personal account and Canada has the same with their Parks. Very informative.  The other photo's on your blog are interesting and Avon area is too. Those tractor pulls sound exciting,,, crazy. Thanks to you and your Wife John for sharing those experiences and destinations.

Hi, John;

   Yes new electrical and harness's are pretty extensive. Allot of plug's, intersections and loads involved. You can see a rv parts supplier called VisoneRV.com that acquires damaged motorhomes. And see the possible wiring incorrectly designed or installed.

  VisoneRV.com has some really good deals and a large majority of the offerings are fairly new. I just picked up some Thermal windows and saved about a grand. It helps me afford new Sharpie markers. I got tired of people climbing on the restore, so a attorney suggested to write  No Trespassing on it. It's a felony. I dislike vandals' and thieves.

  See Ya

Hey John! How much to do a complete electrical pla on my Travco 270? I sat down with SolidWorks.com, and came up with several different options.

 In simplicity, System runs on solar. Has a multitude of different systems connected to the power providers'. Cameras, Motion sensing camera track systems. Retractable solar panels (both sides), you know, the common crap. Turbine generator , like the Yamaha / Kawasaki whisper system. And the typical electronics interfaced with inverters.

Can you do this.

  Let me know and  we can talk...

Thanks for winterizing information! This year in Arizona, I won't need to use the info; hooray! Perhaps if I can afford the cost of fuel, I'll drive north and try it out next year.
