Wouldn't it be nice when everything is loaded in the camper and you are ready to hit the road looking for that next campground that everything would be absolutely perfect. Everything on the trailer is working and the tow vehicle is running great. But think about how boring life would be if everything was perfect. Our RV is forty years old and the tow vehicle is twenty four years old and let me tell you they keep you on your toes and your mind sharp. Happy trails and keep those vintage RVs… Continue

We installed new side view mirrors. They are convex mirrors from Traction (the Heavy Truck Division of Napa). They provide much better visibility than the previous small mirrors. We also found an antenna that finally fit, also from Traction. So now we can both… Continue

We found our 1969 Aladdin earlier in the summer--so it is fairly new to us. We have had trailers before, but this is the oldest and the smallest. I am LOVING IT!
Of course, I do have ENVY of the total restorations seen in so many trailers here... and some wishes that this one was 2 ft. longer (restroom envy). We were able to do the initial cleanup, some painting, and must have rehabs...but it still is not as gorgeous as some here! ***envy-big…

I have a 1976 chevy c-class Redale motorhome, in fair condition except for some leakes from hail damage and breaking plastic parts from the 70's. Does any one else have one?

My friend Marty Shenkman and his wife were recently selected as one of the top 5 finalists in the RVer of the year awards organized by Camping World. He joins four other very worthy finalists for the top honor. I'm posting to ask you to vote for Marty because he is doing something that affects ALL of us. He is a tax attorney whose wife Patti has MS. They bought an Airstream trailer and now travel around the country helping educate financial advisors about how to help their clients plan for… Continue

We took Myrtle out for her maiden voyage; camping at a provincial park 250 kms away. She made the round trip journey easily! She was terrific to camp in and drew a lot of attention from people passing by. Her solar power and plumbing was terrific. Her fridge and stove are not yet hooked up but that's next on the list.… Continue

We are in the finishing stages of renovation on our 1990 motorhome. I do have a couple of ideas for your interior walls. One day when walking through Home Depot, I spotted this bin in the flooring department with rolled up area rugs in it. Turns out they were all 6x9 and made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Best part is they were under $20 (can't remember exactly). There were 3 or 4 colors and 2 different textures--small ribs and a nubby sort of weave. I was drawn immediately to the… Continue

I just installed a Quadrujet (I had built for it) and edelbrock manifold. That should help a lot. Just got to get it tuned in.

OK, I need to find out what type of paint is best to use in my travel trailer. The old paint that was on everything left a terrible smell when the trailer was closed up and now that I am almost ready to repaint some of the interior panels, I want something that will not leave such a rank smell after the trailer has been left closed for a while when not being used. Should I use an interior paint? Something oil based? Something for exterior ? I'm not sure where to go from here and I dont want… Continue

Well, July was the play month. Played most of the month. August is time to work again. Or as Pat say's "Save some more freedom tickets". When we got our Cabana about a year ago we knew nothing about RVs. We had always tent camped. We focused on mechanical and using our Cabana. never mind you could not sit on the toilet and close the door. Or the paneling around the rear side window was falling apart with rot. Well now is the time to fix this!…

We decided to go up what they call the Canadian West Coast which compasses the Canadian Side of Lake Huron. The weather was good the whole four days we were gone, which would have been longer had I not been sort of forced to come home hahahahah. We went and saw the Heritage Light House near Kincardine, then went down and watched the sun set in Goderich and the big tankers being loaded with Salt at the refinery which was very interesting.
Spent the night in the Walmart… Continue
