old travel trailer no bathroom

Need advice or suggestions on a porta potty and shower.  Seems like a potty with separate tanks will cost under $100.  Would like to hear from anyone in my situation.

where were you when the lights went out??

Hey Gang,

Here it is 4 am and the lights just went out from the ice storm that is going, at least I think that’s the reason. Most normal people would go to bed instead of sitting in the dark but that’s me.

Good thing I threw my bedtime snack in the toaster oven when I did at least now I am having a candle lit bedtime snack. Nothin' like chicken wings, peas and rice by candle light.

This reminds me of years ago when people would sit around and talk or read books by… Continue

No Experience with RVS? Buy one at least 5 years old

Ladies:

If you have no experience with RV's don't buy anything over 5 years old.  Also, if you purchase a gas engine, like a workhorse (Chevy) or Ford, there are some problem rig out there.  You will need to have Good Sam 24-hour emergency Roadside Assistance and Toeing.  They will stay in contact with you until help arrives.  And the will check on you also.  I also reccomend Good Sam VIP Insurance, they won't give you any run-a-round if you have a claim.  The other types of insurane…

Caravan (RV ing) in Australia

We went to Australia for 4 days in severe weather, a cyclone, flooding, high winds! But the bright spot was we rented a mini-van camper and drove from Melbourne to Sydney. It was kinda neat to stay at their RV parks and meet the native Australians touring the coast as well! See the photos attached to my page.

I Remember.....

I remember, The days when I could walk down the street and not worry about being hurt by anyone. I remember the day when my dad worked for fleet wood in the 60's and 70's and some of the 80's and Rv's were built to stand. At least some of them anyway. I miss those days. All I see now is pain, and chaos on the tv. I have come to the sad conclusion that the commander will get what she needs only. No more plans of up-grading her, just fix the problem and move on. I had plans for her, but just…

Replacing Old Air Bags (No, the suspension type)

Being the proud owner of "The Texas T" (1990 Southwind), and priding myself in still being mobile enough (at 64) to take care of the repairs and upkeep of our home away from home. I thought I had met my match with the daunting task of replacing the front suspension air bags after the starboard one blew out on our last trip to the Texas coast.

After receiving the replacement kit and the less than detailed instruction sheet, it occured to me that I was expected to insert these two…

Gas Prices

I am the proud owner of my second glastron.  My first was a 1970 and the one I have now is a 1969.  It was driven to Northern Michigan by a friend 15 years age and has been in his pole building since.  The mice and other rodents were using it as a storage unit in the walls.  I have started to redo it a little at a time.  We will be moving to California this spring so it will be stored at my sons home in Wisconsin.  My plan is to spend summers in wi and continue…
