Ive repaired and refurbished Old,new and inbetween Rv's and after careful thought, I have determined that older RV's were built at least 70% better then whats on the market now. Yea, sure the newer Rv's have ammemities and bells and whistles and doo dads that make some, rolling mansions. To me, Camping is just that, To get away for a weekend or a week or maybe 2,, and NOT taking a rolling 4 bedroom house with the 90 inch flat screen tv's and such, (excluding full timers,,no offense…

I HATE being cold. I hate the thought of being cold. I hate getting out of bed on a cold winter morning to step on a cold floor. Even carpet can't really take the cold out of a cold floor. The most it can do is attempt to mask the cold and it doesn't do a good job of that.
So I decided to install in floor heating in the bus in an attempt to address that concern. Read about it here: …
ContinueHello all. I go by Shorty and I live in Northern Alabama. I own a 1999 Coach House 192KS (Class B). I am new to this forum and have all ready gleaned a plethora of information. The reason for this post is to see if any members are up for an informal get together in the near future? I'm looking at perhaps as early as December? Like many of you, I am retired and as I say "everyday is a Saturday." So I am flexible with dates. I usually camp in Corps of Engineer (COE) Camp Grounds given their…

Hello all. Finally after much belly aching and cussin, I got the front cab carpet replaced. I took a chance on an add on ebay and ordered a molded carpet kit (~$107.00), which was not supposed to fit my vehicle according to the manufacturer but it did.…

This is the camper. Not bad looking! It really is a nice camper. But as mentioned it needs some work. I plan to remove and reseal each of the windows. All have subtle leaks.
I have to thank my Friend Kevin & Colleen for giving me this camper. They had many good memories in it. I'm honored to be able to restore it and get it back on…

Greetings,
I've seen a number of posts on remodeling or even rebuilding campers. This blog is really no different. The subject is a 1983, 29 foot Coachman Travel Trailer.
I'm no slouch when it comes to carpentry, so when I had a friend who had this 29' coachman travel trailer that they quit using a year ago due to wood rot I jumped at the opportunity. It cost me a set of new tires and the fuel to haul it from Brainerd Minnesota to Cannon…

The front brakes on my 1980 GMC Vandura 35 class c motorhome are dragging and I am not sure why.Once the brakes cool off they work fine but once they heat up the front brakes are dragging again.
I took the unit out for a test drive and when I got back home I jacked the front end up off the ground but I could not make either wheel move at all.I left it for 1 hour and they moved fine.
Any help would be great.

Hello. I come to this blog with hat in hand. I recently purchased a one owner, low mileage (<59K), gently used 1999 Coach House 192 KS Class B. Being almost 15+ years old it came with some cosmetic warts but mechanically it is sound as a tank. I recently completed a round trip to Southern Utah and back without incidents of any kind. As I indicated there were some cosmetic warts which I have corrected and/or mitigated. However I have one that I cannot seem to correct. The carpeting in the…

Well my problem with the battery in the truck not charging has been fixed now. After having the alternator checked, the wiring all tracked and checked, it turns out the problem was the regulator. As luck would have it, when I bought this rig it came with a box of 'stuff' which looked like a lot of junk. In there was another regulator and when the guys tried it, it worked. So with the new regulator in place, I took her for a run and she did well, charging the battery. But after about 5 klm…

I have purchased a Airstream Argosy with a 454 GM motor. I love the coach for its beauty and retro aircraft style. ( Im a pilot) but, to my point and question. I am looking for anyone who has done a conversion from a Carburetor to a throttle body EFI ( electronic fuel Injection) There are several manufactures that now make a drop in bolt on kits starting at around 2 grand.
The benefits include better fuel economy , easier starting and reliability. The long term benefit is an…
