It's Been A Loooonggg....Road!

Finally, I never ever thought I would see this day! It's well overdue. It's been a year and we still have things to do, but today I can proudly say that she is painted on the outside! We now are going into the design process of what we want to paint on the outside.

It's been hard in 95° weather to get her done, but I am proud to say...the colors are on! We still have a few things to do…

newbie signing on

Hello everyone, I just bought a 1972 Starcraft, Starcruiser 22' in suprising good and all original condition. I'll add some pix soon. By good condition I mean "considering". Still a lot of work to be done. Been sitting awhile, but, you can tell this rv has been loved for most of it's life. Time to give it a second chance. As usual the first thing to tackle is the fiberglass roof.Anyone with any tips or Manuals will be appreciated. Thanx

Lesson Learned The HARD Way - Part 2

Well, as promised in my first blog, George is getting a lot of attention. Am set up at Caldwell RV Park, Caldwell ID. I usually dry camp so am getting really spoiled being plugged in. Everything works...air conditioner, cable TV etc! Suppose to get Internet but if you aren't within spitting distance of the office, you can forget it.

Am really tossing around the idea of becoming a Fulltimer and realized that you need a whole lot more storage space than there is. Up in the bed area,…

A new old fresh start....

Our children are adults...legally anyway. My high school sweetheart and I figured 21 years of marriage earned us the right to a selfish adventure or two.

Enter a craigslisted 1977 Dodge cabover rv. It took about ten seconds to fall in love with the potential of this beast....and another 5 to realize to make it work for us meant gutting...

We remain in the ugly before stage...every removed item seems to reveal more rot...but our plan is simple. Gut and rebuild simply. No… Continue

Steering box

We have a 1991 Grandville motor home. It has a Cummings engine but, we think we have a Chrysler chassis because right is right and left is left.  What we are trying to find out is the steering box, we need to replace ours.  Any help would be grateful.

It's not an RV any more; it's an ASV (Activity Support Vehicle)

There have been so many uses over the years for my 1977 Free Spirit Motor Home that I've decided to update her into the current world of technology by renaming her my Activity Support Vehicle (ASV).  Ever since I painted her back in 1998, she is mistaken for a 1978 model.  This upgrade and restoration project may be compared to taking anti-oxident supplements by a human.  My ASV has been completely restored structurally from the inside out.  The skin has been left on the old fish, but all…

On Our Way to Color!!

Whew! What a day! I'm tired! Painting is NOT good for arthritis...I can tell ya that for sure! Ackck! We started this morning off by washing the trailer off with STP, rinsing, drying, taping, and then going to breakfast! (At this point we were just already too tired to make something! LOL!)

At 94° it has made painting a bit of a chore. We've got about half done with most of the pink painted and half of that needs a second coat. Every where you see blue, it will be…

Lesson learned the HARD way!

I bought my "Golden Oldie" George just a little over a year ago and caught a bad case of wanderlust. Did a lot of nothing but drove it like I stole it until the tires fell off. Now a person would think that after being a mechanic in the Army for 13 years and a long haul trucker, school bus driver and city transit driver that I would know (and practice) the importance of good maintenance. NOT!!!

My trip from CA to ID turned into a living nightmare in less than 10 miles. Tires started…

water tank leaking!

We took out our 1979 mobile scout. My husband replaced all the bearings and welded a new hitch and we put new tires. We took it to the coast Went fishing in Rockport Texas and we found out everything works. The air conditioner is great. The only problem we encountered was the water tank leaks.  It is very easy to get to. and it is made out of plastic. It is a soft plastic not the ridged type of plastic. Can that be repaired and with what? By the way he landed a 40 lb golden drum! He was very…

My Choice

I would have to say that I prefer the one on the bottom right. I don't know a lot about design, but I believe this one would be more in keeping with a "vintage" look.

Forgot profile

The little unit is also a loft so you can sleep above the bath. Here is the side profile. I think it needs curves and angles? maybe flat then arch up?

Thanks Big Dogg
