Careys pants and the preacher

Hey Gang,

I wanted to write a lot more but I am leaving at 8 am for Frankenmuth Michigan with Walt and his family & friends so will quickly only write about my pants and the video I just placed on my website.

Before I left for the Philippines I took my new jean shorts to the tailor to sew velcro on the pockets. I was so freaked about what everyone told me, be careful, pick pockets, thiefs, watch your wallet, your back etc...... So I thought with velcro on the pockets it will… Continue

1988 Jayco Jay class C cabover rebuild.

The beloved class c came to my family in early spring with the knowledge that it would need some attention but what came as a surprise to us was just how much attention it would need.

My friend's dad had previously owned the RV for 14 years in which it was mostly a yard orniment.

As I pulled out of their driveway I looked at the milage on the odometer and the milage on the title. It had been driven 497 miles in 14 years!!!

I did an oil change, replaced tires,…

Last wish

As a child it was always chaos. Drunk mother, who died in our motor home

by driving over a cliff in it. I suppose I am upset because its close

to the time she passed away that has me thinking so much. What I find

odd is my wife is sick, she is too young to be as sick as she is.

Medical sucks, docs only care about the money. "here take this pill and

all will be fine". Yeah, that… Continue

Just thoughts

First, I wish tell all happy holidays, and to be safe. As I posted on my last blog I was discouraged. Well, last night I looked on line at materials on the Home Depot and Lowes web site. I found some goodies there that were not as expensive as I thought. I found things like tile, and even the lumber to get her roof fixed. I am not sure however if that used 2+4's or the 2+3's. In any case they were 1.67 for 8 ft. Rather that's a 1.67 a foot I hope not. I found tile for as low as 67 cents which… Continue

Discouraged

Today has been one of those days. I found out to reroof the Commander will be around $3500. Not to mention all the other things that needs to be done. I am trying to look at it as restoring an old rust bucket car, but I am having a hard time with that right now. Today I turned on the pump to flush antifreeze through my water lines and the toilet broke at the plastic connected to the toilet it self. So now I need a toilet. Geez! I see them used, (yuck) for 40.00, but would rather go new to a… Continue

Our Commander

We have not had it for very long. I saw it one day in passing and was surprised at how good it looked for its age. Fairly solid, has some rot by the wheel wells, and sides. Its a fix I think I can handle. Anyways, For two weeks It stood out. The guy was asking 2500 for it, and him got to take 1700. I have been raised with Rv's all my life. My dad (RIP) built for Fleetwood for 30 yrs. So we always had one. Always a class c, so I wanted to try a class A. Not to mention my mother in 1977 drove…
