I know that people have personal preferences on their fav carbs and I like Holleys personally but Im confronted with the following dilemma. My Rochester E4ME isnt opening the secondaries, the motor is supposed to be a rebuild and I have no Idea what was done and what wasnt. That being said I dont know if the carb has ever been worked on and find it at this point not worth the hit and miss of a rebuild and hoping its got the right size jets and dialed in correctly. My question (s) are as…

I just got done watching the last Episode 6 (each 2 hrs) of the Ken Burns Film "The National parks, America's Best Idea" on PBS. Second time I've watched it.
WOW what a great emotional and almost spiritual experience. If you haven seen it GO GET IT AND WATCH IT.
I have been to several Natl Parks and LOVE THEM but now I want to start visiting some of the smaller lesser known and less crowded parks on my next journey. With your Senior or Access Pass admission…

Hi Folks,
Thought I'd start a wee blog, not done anything like this before so here goes nothing.
I'd been toying with the idea of buying a Motorhome for a year or so and after two family holiday washouts in the tent enough was enough.
Being a life long fan of classic american vehicles, V8 motors and drag racing when it came to what to buy there was only one country of manufacture. Over a six month period we looked at a few, some were fairly local, some not so but none…

need understanding of dual batteries at entrance step...batteries were missing when I acquires coach and now I need help to understand isolator/switch connections. Presently there is a what I'll call a starter solenoid, with a S and an I terminal. My confusion comes, as to how do I connect two batteries to that type switch, old school type Ford fender mount solenoid? Do both positive leads from batteries go to same large terminal? I do also have a working generator. Please help me, thanks.…

One day I want to look back on this date. I want to remember that time when months had passed when I missed opportunities or for whatever reason the right rig was just out of reach...just a little too much, a little too far away, had too much going on, I held off too long, the weekend I broke my toe...
So I want to mark this with a blog post to look back on. That there are moments in the search when I want to give up and spend hard saved money on something I just KNOW is not…

Today we began to restore our 73' FANC after being domesticated and home bound for the last two years due to medical problems and the normal everyday BS that we all go through at one time or another. Well last night my beloved wife and I looked at each other and said Spring is coming and the camp ground and the natural forests are calling our names once again so here we go again out into God's green country.
True we have much work ahead of us and a few repairs and a tad of painting…

recently my 84 d150 with carburated 318 engine quit on me. after some checking the problem was found to be a small module mounted on the driver's side fender. research determined that this was a 'spark control' module. my luck held true and this part was longer to be had from any source or any salvage yard. i tried a rebuilt point type distributor but it was a disaster and would not maintain gap on points. having been a mechanic thru the transition from point type to electronic ignition i…

Thank you Pat Daly, and Yoseif & Shayndel for your kind comments. You are inspiring me to do some polishing and restoring...although it is in pretty good shape for a 65 year old :) So fun to see, and be a part of this site.
