My wife made the mistake of peeking in here. I am redoing the center section from the bath to the drivers seat. Next year the bath and bedroom and probably the cab over.

Using the old insulation to lay out the new roof ribs.It was molded to the old ribs…

Love-Hate Relationship!

Yesterday (Sunday) we worked ALL day from 8am to 9:38pm doing the inside, decorating and found out that Rosie has a leak in the copper tubing below the kitchen sink about the size of a dime. I about died when this happened. This is going to set us back a few weeks. *SIGH*

Didn't get one thing done in Rosie today as planned. We were supposed to have a sanding party, but Mother Nature decided differently for us! It poured rain all day! Ughgh. Although, one of our best friends,…

Home built Awning!

I am building an awning for our 1966 Kit companion. Cost around $150.00. It is 11 feet long by 8 feet wide. Looks almost original, doesn't require ropes to hold it down and stores in the trailer. I will post pictues soon!  Almost every thing was bought at a local hard ware store including the awning material. Sounds interesting? Pictures's soon.

1975 Dutchmade Camper

We just bought a 1975 Dutchmade camper. She is 19.5 ft and fully intact. I wish to restore her. I have done vintage boats and yachts but my first adventure into the world of RV. I am a cabinet maker by profession and have a full shop and resources for a rebuild. Need mostly cosmetic work or so it appears. The original appliances are there except for the furnace. The great thing is all of the original documentation, including manuals, sales brochures and original owners notes are in perfect…

WOW! What A Day!

Started early..and just stopped and hardly anything got done...from what it feels like! Started off by going to Lowe's and buying little things that were needed for electrical and securing the fridge in. Got the fridge, got her all fitted in and painted around her to match.

Made a door to hide the fridge, kilzed it and still waiting for it to dry. Long story, but the kilz was too goopy! Ughh! So, after that is all dry, I will sand it down, paint both sides of the door, ass…

Our restoration project

We took the mirrors off the doors yesterday, they where a rusted mess. Ground all the rust and old paint off and gave them a fresh coat of paint. They look like new !!!

We are installing a microwave today and deciding where the TV and DVD player will be mounted.

Couldn't get anything done last week end. way to cold, windy and raining here in New Lebanon, N.Y.

Phase two of class c rebuild.

The next leg of this journey to rebuild while trying not to actually take it apart ! From the start I wanted to be able to continue to use the camper without months of down time. concentrating on  a small piece at a time so each section could be tackled and finished in a couple weeks and not months. It was a good theory, but it harder to refurbish this way. But I'm committed to it now.

The kitchen cab and sink stick out into the walk way and take up precious floor space. I am…

Re-installing windows on an old RV

Hellos Campers,

I am currently restoring a 1963 Yellowstone Camper. I am stripping off all the paint and want to take out the windows and re-install them. What would be best to use for weather stripping. Aluminum sealant, ?

Thanks,

Mark

memorial day, corn and pepper picking

Hey Gang,

YES Malinda and I will be holding a Memorial Day picnic. Place will probably be in the metro parks. Stay tuned.

Today I went shopping at Save A Lot. It should be called Save A Little as even groceries in this store are starting to get expensive. At one time the store in Euclid had a nice meat department. Over time it has gotten smaller because of the cost of meats. 4 burger patties now a buck a piece at a cheap discount store.

But that's not what I wanted to…

Can't put that bunkbed back up

I know this sounds dumb. I have a 1980 Mobile Scout Vaquero 20'  There is a sofa that converts to a bed over it is a upper bunk you fold down the face so that it converts to a bunk. The face has 2 doors  so you  fold it up and use it as a storage cabinet.  I opened it by pulling it down, and now it will not fold back up. I  can not fine a latch a latchs on the sides  nor can I fold it back up. A piece of plywood is under the mattress and I can not understand how it folds It looks like it is…

more info

I just found a whole bunch of paper work on my 76 dodge explorer 260. It got a new motor in 97. A 440. the manual says it came with a smaller motor. It got headers put on at the same time. not sure how many miles on it now, but I know in the last few years it only went out 2 times a year.  Trying to get all the little things working right.I'll keep in touch. Any ideas would be cool.

Sell or Part Out?

I have a '99 24 ft Aerolite travel trailer that a vent was broken and I didn't know it or use the camper for about 4 years and now the floor is ruined! Should I try to repair the floor or scrap it out and try to sell it for parts? Keep in mind I'm 61 years old and NOT a carpenter or handyman LOL How do I go about finding someone to buy it in the condition it's in? Any info would be appreciated! I live in central Iowa!
