Looking for a holding tank

Does anyone happen to know of anywhere around north Misouri where i might find used a Black/gray water holding tank for this 87 Honey i have. I need a small tank. The one that was on it was too deep and it was torn up when I caught it on some high ground. This one was 12inches deep. I need one no more then 6 or 8 inches deep . around 20in  x 30in. for gray water.

Take One RV And Add Habitat for Humanity

What do you get when you add RVs and Habitat for Humanity?  Why, you get RV Care-A-Vanners!  I recently spent about two weeks in Springfield, MO with the Habitat for Humanity RV Care-A-Vanners 25th anniversary build and celebration rally April 21-May 4, 2014.  HFH has been using RVers to help build affordable housing for 25 years.  Building skills - not necessary.  You only need an RV and a…

what to do with THIS ? (roof)

well, talk about the cart before the horse....my friend who wanted to help make my tiny house mo betta painted the interior. Absolutely made it mo betta! However, the roof leaks and I need to repair it so that I don't have to tarp it all of the time in order to avoid the leak. So...I have been up there a couple of times and here's what I know:

The PO put some sort of House wrap…

Interior paneling repair suggestions?

Have minimal water damage to paneling on walls but what I do have has made the paneling paper thin and brittle. We plan on painting the interior paneling but even paint won't cover the damage. Does anyone have any suggestions that may not involve alot of work or money? Thnx! Mark

AC

Well we managed the winter with electric heaters. Now it is summer. Highs have been in the 90's. Now the AC systems do not work. I do have to order new motors for the systems. Today the septic line broke. Had to replace the entire system. However, I know not to ask what is next.

Almost back together!

We spent since October making repairs on our 80 Brave. After engine trouble on every trip, we rebuilt the engine and installed new heads, intake, carb, etc. We have a few more carb adjustments and modifications to make, but she does fire up and run. Last night, I finished replacing the original 30 amp power box with a Progressive Dynamics 4045 unit. It was surprisingly easy, and I was able to separate each of the power device runs. I also added a USB charger outlet and an additional kitchen… Continue

Finding Rv parts

It is very hard locating exact replacement parts for older and vintage RV's. Some companies have opened up and specialize is Replacement parts molded from factory molds etc, but they are more for Classic Tin cans... Not your everyday Joe building a not so famous Rv/trailer. Ive watched Vintage RV shows rebuilding a classic but havent come across a show with a 70's  Nomad etc. Each RV'er has his own taste in what they want,, A Lincoln,Cadillac or even the Rolls Royce of RV's,,Its all the…

My new{ish} camper

Picked up a camper, hope it is "old" enough! 1989 Skamper by Dutchman, model 1850T. Had a price I couldnt refuse, but the round trip from SC to OH did add some expense. Slapped a set of new tires on it, checked the bearings and added grease, and off I went! Slow trip, trailer wanted to sway at 60mph, so I stuck to 58-59. That can be tough on I-77!

Got it home, made a few rot repairs. AC and heat strip work, hadnt checked the propane furnace yet. Water pump spins up, but I…

Routine Maintenance

Soooooooooo, after three + months on the road and in Florida, its time to give the old girl some routine preventive maintenance. We may take a 5000 mile trip this fall to Utah and Colorado and Yosemite etc so I want her ready. Heres the plan:

1: Found a broke muffler hanger clamp so built a new one to replace the temporary coat hanger until the new one was installed:

 2. Although there likely was NOT a problem, when my main black holding tank was completely…

To Rebuild or not Rebuild?

Well, it was been 5 years since I was laid off from my job of 20 years and the money to continue restoring our custom classic 1973 Krager Kustom Koach dried up. I have not been able to afford to get the hydroboost system fixed let alone complete the interior rebuild. It sits in our driveway begging for the attention that I would love to lavish upon it. I power wash the outside of it every year to keep it looking as good as I can, despite its need for a completely new paint job.…

Lessons Learned the Hard Way - New Title to Come

Woo Hoo! I made it through my first full winter in my RV! It was debatable a few times but I persevered. I learned so much and most of it was from this website. This is definitely my go to spot for info.

Still at the Caldwell RV Park here in Idaho and just got moved into a primo spot a few weeks ago. The Boise River is my front yard and a lake is my back yard. When I have the window shades up on the left side, all I can see is the lake and the RV's at the other end of the…
