Hi Franny-
Here are a couple pics of our new Whale Seaward S1100.
The front looks similar to (I'd imagine) what your coach originally had installed. The back is pretty plain, but has the two inlet/outlet barbs on it.
The box itself measures 16" high by 16" wide and 22" deep... just about the same size as our original water heater.
This one runs on 110v, and also heats from the engine's radiator when you're running down the road. This one…

Hi Pat,
I am a member, or was. At the time I had a 94 Bounder MH. Now, we have a 2004 Sunova, I thought maybe it would disqualify us. Wasn't sure

Does anyone have info about the original water heaters in the Revcons? It appears to heat the water while underway or by 110 electricity. My mechanic is trying to figure out where and how this is set up to get hot from the engine.
I would like to install a tankless LPG and if possible keep both types. Never know where I may end up for days or weeks at a time.

Just wondering if we can still be members here. We purchased a newer motorhome. It is a 2004 Sunova. I have enjoyed so much the articles here. I am fascinated, by some of the older campers and motorhome on here. I hope to be able to come to some of the meetings and see some of them, and talk to the owners. It's just amazing to me.

Here we go,,,, wheeeeee... I got the bath sink installed,, in a previous blog. Well that still left a lot of daylight hours to tinker,, or really screw something up big time. But hey, its a guy thing (sometimes wimmins, but they have the advantage,, they actually READ instructions).
The water heater is being down right stubborn, to put in polite, politically correct terms, (P.I.T.A. in laymens terms) .After replacing the Auto switch propane regulator for the dual tank set up,,…

Well, let's see how.... I woke up on the Right side of the floor today,, had my morning cup(s) of coffee, and was planning my day to tinker after the bout of thundery storms that passed thru yesterday and last night. I was surprised by a knock on the door and the mail lady had a package for me,, On a Sunday,, Imagine that? My new bathroom sink arrived in a box twice…

I have a list of wiring projects to tackle, but being a complete novice when it comes to electrical work, I thought it best to start simple. I've been youtubing for weeks making sure I have a basic understanding of wire gauge, types of connections, and concepts such as grounding. I've been filling my toolbox with gadgets, a multimeter, heat shrink, a pair of rubber gloves and the like.
Today I finally took the plunge. Everything starts with a first step, right? And sharing…

Have had a productive useless Day. Started off, waking up on the wrong side of the floor, again,,,. Stumble into the bathroom, to start the day off hopefully better,,, started off, fairly well, till I turned around and decided to brush a tooth or two,(I guess thats why they call it a TOOTH BRUSH, instead of a teeth brush), So any who,, I slather on a huge pea sized dollop of teeth paste,(lol) and then drop the Tooth brush, thud into the sink,,, Not just into the sink and slide around,, But…

Neighbor comes over with a light bulb glowing above his head,, and I realized he has his thinker in overdrive. What was I going to get myself into? He comes over and throws the idea about utilizing this space above the kitchen in his 70's 5th wheel. A little idea of how this is set up,, above the center kitchen heading back to the front bedroom there is standard ceiling that has a box end to it,,facing the bedroom. He got curious and pulled off that face panel and its a very large void,,…

On the trip home the water pump on the 454 locked up. The mechanic where I work, a good guy and worth it I am sure, wants $600 labor to replace it. To be honest I don't have that much free cash. Can anyone give me some pointers on removing the front end on a 91 Holiday Rambler Aluma-lite and a list of tools so I can try and do this myself. I have replaced water pumps on 350's but not motorhomes.

Ive been reading through numerous blogs about RV'ing in winter time.
I even watched a few video's on other Full timers and their trade secrets.
The BEST,, and I mean the best solution is to head south where its warmer,,, BUT,, Not everyone can do that,, So we must improvise and live and learn from trial and error and hopefully get some practical ideas on keeping ourselves from becoming Pop sickles. I myself prefer the head south option, But as of lately, that seemed the best…

It wasn't an ambitious weekend. Undone schoolwork is catching up with me. In some ways going back to college at this time of life is gratifying, and other times I just feel like I can't be bothered. Wait! I felt like that back in my twenties and that's why I didn't finish. Guess it's not an AGE thing - LOL.
Yesterday my fixit guy came over with his air compressor and fixed the valve stem and aired up that inside dually. I think he just pried it a little to open it up,…

Been off here a couple days,, besides getting poofed from weather issues when storms blow in. I got out and did some tinkering and maintenance,
I recently replaced the propane regulator and auto switch.(automatically switches from one tank to the next with a twin tank hook-up,) Other then having a bad case of COPD, and enough hardware in my neck and back to be considered semi bionic,, I worked through the difficult breathing and pain from cold steel inside me,, It especially sucks…

Im kind of OLD school,,,, to the young unz,, that means we are just to stubborn and can remember way before they had all these fancy gizmo's.
As I sit here at my Top of the line Commadore 64 with the upgraded 14 inch monitor, I tap away at the precision keyboard. Occasionally I reach over and turn the dial on my RCA 15.5 inch black and white TV searching for 1 of the 3 channels available,,, Not really much of a selection, so I leave it on Lawrence Welk. I ponder my thoughts when I…

Unfortunately I only had this afternoon to get out and work on Juno. Earlier in the week, though I did learn all about topping up batteries and how to test with a multimeter (my house battery is subsequently in fine shape) –so that was something.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
First, I finally figured out how to use the new environmentally-friendly piece of garbage that qualifies as a modern gas container so it doesn't leak gas out of the…

Its getting to be that time again,,, Yup,, Road trips.
We get our vehicles backed up and hooked up to our trailers,,, get everything hooked up and lined up and jump in and go.
BUT,!!!!!!! Did any of you remember to make adjustments to your head lights? Seriously.. I have seen so many cars/ trucks,, pulling trailers with their head lights beaming over the TOP of tree lines on low beam.
Its not something that falls onto your usual checklist,, But when you drop a…
