Making room

We are going to remove the jack knife couch (very uncomfortable) and replace it with a sewing table that had two flip up table tops. It will be used as a TV stand, sewing table and laptop stand. The couch is out (very easy, 10 wood screws) and soon as I am done with the sewing table, I will posts more.  April is making insulated curtains for the windshield. New covers for the chairs are coming soon. …

New to Full timing

We have been on our old HR  for 2 weeks now. It is amazing how much "stuff " we have gotten rid of , yet still more to go.  Every day I throw out at least 2-3 things large or small. We had 2 months  to disperse belongings and used that well or so we thought. Send things to the kids,  donating to the local Youth Ranch and sharing with neighbors.  We still have…

Fleetwood Prowler campers

I just bought a 1978 Fleetwood Prowler 5th wheel. There is a great deal of work that is needed. I have been trying to locate any information like schematics, tanks sizes, and propane systems. I contacted every company I could think of. If anyone has information on the camper, please let me know. I will post pictures and have questions and maybe even a couple of answers. …

1975 Holiday Rambler

The old doll is giving me fits.  She is beautiful on the inside but some problems with fuel tank and fuel lines are driving me crazy.  Any advice would be appreciated.  I am afraid the this will become a real can of worms if I don't get the sequence of repair in order.

Rebuild of my 1962 pull toy

As soon as I get some decent pictures I will post them

I still have absolutely no idea as to why I bought this thing, we were hunting in Canada two years back and we came upon a rancher who politely informed us that we had strayed onto land he was stewarding(what ever that meant) then he asked us if we would stay for coffee ( ok I thought it was strange but when in Rome).  As we walked up to the house I spotted this really bashed and rust RV at first I thought it was a box…

We just purchased this 1966 Dodge Travco. She's got 66,000 miles on it, with three previous owners all located near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our family has been traveling for ten+years, sailing around the world, Sailing around Mexico for a few years, and now we plan to drive this old bus from Alaska to Argentina with our two kids. Should be a fun adventure. We blog about everything over at www.bumfuzzle.com

Bends, Buckles and Cracks in the frame!

Well Folks, bad news for the Winnie!    Was doing some research to replace the Mor/Ryde suspension and stumbled upon some issues.

The frame has some major issues, including cracks, buckling and is twisted in multiple spots.    The drivers side Mor/Ryde Suspension arm has started to poke through the bathroom floor.

Lessons Learned the Hard Way - Part 4

The past few months have been some of the hardest for Good Ole George and I - both emotionally and financially. Was planning on heading for warmer climates as I can't stand the cold. Then my brother-in-law fell off a trailer and broke his neck so headed to Washington State to help out as the hospital they air-flighted him to was an hour and a half from their home. He had an angel watching over him that day. He was in surgery approx. 14 hours but came through with…

63 Terry

I was given a 1963 Terry 15' travel trailer. After two days of removing the trash, I found massive water damage, no appliances, someone actually drilled holes through the floor, ran 12v wires through it and set a battery inside the camper. There is a 2 gallon black water tank, no grey water tank. The drain for the grey tank is ran through the floor and that is it. The would thing is the camper still has the split rim wheels.

I have been trying to find everything I can on the camper…

often thought of down sizing

we or i should say i, sometimes get frustrated and let my thoughts wander to the idea of downsizing back to a small pull camper since just me and the little lady, but when we go and grand kids come along, it makes nice that if strom comes up ,they all migrate insaide, other wise they sleep in tents we keep on hand, we went with a friend and his wife this summer to place just south of muncie(summit lake) and was reminded how easy for us was to pull in, hook up and done, with our other campers,…

Full Timer Insurance for Older RV's.....

Okay, we're full-timers in a '79 Winnebago and almost NO ONE offers personal property / homeowners insurance for it.

Best we found was through Good Sam but only one out of their 5 companies will even insure such an old rig.

NOTE - THIS IS NOT FOR VEHICLE INSURANCE - this is for all of our personal stuff  - IN the rig.  Usually considered…
