Check the Toyota RV off of my bucket list. Done!

Bathsheba%20in%20the%20beginning.docx

I finally did purchase the '84 Toyota RV - Sunrader that I have wanted so long off of ebay. "Bathsheba" was delivered while I was in Europe in July.  Thank goodness I have friends who were willing to meet the carrier and drive her home for me -where she sat for eight weeks until I returned to the US.

Since them I have spent as many…

Our Maiden Voyage with a Half- renovated Scotty

John has been diligently working on our Scotty since we bought it in July. Those of you who read my last post know that we took a trip before we began any renovations. John totally stripped the camper and used the original parts as patterns to rebuild. We wanted to take Scotty on a trip to PA when our granddaughter was born, but Scotty was not ready.…

Let Us Remember The Storm Victims

I'm on my way back home right now from my annual half a year long road adventure and I stopped by one of my last camping spots and I usually see some friends of mine from West Virginia, but they didn't make it there. It isn't someone I usually have on speed dial or anything, but I do enjoy seeing and camping beside them for the past 4 years that I can remember and they are great people. I hope they didn't get caught up in the hurricane's destruction. There were a few people there from Maine…

How to hook up hydrogen to a motorhome

I have stainless steal plates in a 5 gal. bucket of water. I hook up 12 volts from battery to the plates. Then I run a tube to my intake manifold. This cuts my gasoline intake down. I hot rodded the idea and went with 2 five gal buckets to increase hydrogen (Flammable gas) I was pulling more volts so I added a extra alternator. I also put a tank on top of my RV to increase storage of the hydrogen to cook with and heat my RV in winter. Sence hydrogen is a clean fuel it reverts back to oxygen… Continue

Another adventure for the winter?

As some of you know we rescued our old GMC camper this past year so since I repainted the outside white a white commercial coating, Then I tried to put some stripe accents on it but the stripe paint won't stick to it! So what to do? I have decided to do an antique car "Woody" down the sides and cab doors.

Going to use thin sheets of Luan cut, waterproofed on the back side and stained and sealed with spar varnish on the outside.

Will use thin wood strips to frame it all in…

RV ideas

I just picked up  a little 100 watt inverter an the Home_Despot for under $10.00 They plug into a cig lighter socket and it powers a 12 watt CFL for hours without getting hot. It also has a USB charge port and is very small.

The idea is to install one of these near every areas I want to use a normal 120 volt CFL light. It is less costly than buying more Thin-lite fixtures, and have other practical uses, like charging your electronic devices and more

Advice on a roof top ac

Just wanting to get some advice from some about putting in a roof top ac on my 64 Aristocrat Lo Liner.   At one time I used a small window unit through the side window which was small (4 or 5k btu ) and it worked very well . But I really did not like having it in the window.  Can anyone tell me what is the going price or a fair price to pay for a small roof top? I have no problem with wiring it in or evan fixing one that made need repair…
